MSD Atomic manifold worth it or not

I've been thinking about adding the MSD manifold for awhile now but just can't pull the trigger. It's hard to think that it's really worth $1100ish, plus install and tune too only get maybe 35whp at best. I haven't seen anybody with one yet to talk too them so I'm here asking for some help from those who have it already. Is it really worth the $2kish or am I better off doing something else.*

Car has headers, full exhaust, intake and TB already. Thx guys/girls

I think something like that has a lot to do with what direction you want to take your motor mods. If you are planning a cam that intake would be a good fit. Or if you were adding NOS. The worth is really what you feel it is.

If you do buy one you can find them cheaper. I got mine from juiced motor sports for quite a bit less than $1100.

A elk known member on here, Pray (Pray Performance) has done tons of testing between his stock ported intak manifold and throttle body vs the MSD intake manifold. The MSD lost torque and hp down low only to pick a couple hp above 6000rpm. He’s proven this even on a full bolt on car. His ported intake and throttle body is somewhere around $550. But you have to provide him your intake and throttle body. Honestly they are very easy to take off. There’s a couple threads on here about it. Now he has proven that if you plan is to put a cam & heads on the car and turn up the redline to 7000+, then a ported MSD intake and ported throttle body will make more power on the top end.

You can look up Pray Perfromance on Facebook.

Not a great bang for the buck unless you match it with a cam change. In that event make sure it should also be ported. Unless you are chasing every last HP number, I'd pass until you swap in a cam that would compliment a ported version.

A lot of people have said that you do gain some horsepower up top but lose some on the lower end of the curve.

Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate the info. Sounds like it's not really worth it right now so I think I'll just add E85 kit this year and save up for either a cam or nos.

You will not see anywhere near 35 wheel from an MSD in fact you won't see half of that figure on an otherwise stock motor.

You're gonna love the e85 mod, best bang for the buck hands down.
