How did you do it? Please explain in detail because it doesn't look like it will fit properly. Did you grind the key down at all?

Thanks for the info. I had no choice to do recall, mine came that way. I'll be calling Tuesday to order 2 of them. I live in south Florida (Miami side). The people who live and work here could care less about other people or even providing any type of service, so I bet this will be a total fiasco.

Sure would like to know how the dealership can take you off the list. They don't even have the refusal paper now. I'm just writing on the recalls: RETURN TO SENDER! NEVER!

Attention: This Bulletin also applies to any of the above models that may be Export vehicles.
This Bulletin has been revised to add a Note in the Warranty Information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 15-09-83-001.
Condition

Some customers may comment on the appearance of the transmitter after the integrated blade has been removed.
Cause

2010-2014 Camaro
  • This will occur after Recall #14294 has been performed.
2015 Camaro
  • Produced with a separate key and transmitter.
Correction

Install a new insert in place of the integrated blade and install a new battery cover following the steps below:
  1. Remove the original battery cover and discard.
  2. Locate the slot in the chrome part of the transmitter and install the new insert in place of the integrated blade as shown, making sure it is fully seated.

Note: If the slot is not showing, press the release button to “flip” the chrome part over.

    (1)Locking Tab

  3. Press and hold the button to “flip” the insert into the closed position and then release the button. Important: Excessive force on the insert may crack the tab portion that is inserted into the slot.

  4. Install the battery and new battery cover. Be sure the retention tab on the insert engages with the underside of the battery cover.

Anyway to have these little plastic pieces mailed to you? Explaining this to a service advisor sounds laborious...

Service guy at my dealer told me his hands were tied and it had to be done, (although I thought it was deemed optional)! I asked for the service manager and he scribbled a disclaimer and had me sign it. They did mention the insert with Camaro on it. I feigned excitement.......... then said nah!

question.. I have CAI intake on my car. i went to the dealership and told them they told me to make an appointment for the filler and on the day of the appointment they'll check my car to see if its still under warranty. I was wondering if you guys know if they'll check under the hood ?
cause in that case ill lose my warranty over a 20 dollar filler

I have a z/28 intake... I've been getting my free oil changes w/ out any questions, and they have to raise the hood to do that.

I'll be seeing if my dealer will fess up a pair of these. That empty slot has always bugged me.

Thanks MS3DALE for the detailed instructions and cost estimates.

When one of you folks who refuse to change the keyfob get done in because of it, will you please let us know how it worked out for you?
Or if we don't see you post in a while, should we assume the keyfob got you?

I bought the inserts last week, $10 a pair. They should have been free to those that were forced by recall.... I bought my car with it already done. Planning to buy a replacement fob with key still attached.
