Which TPMS sensors do I need for new wheels/tires?

Mamma always said there are no dumb questions....so here goes. I am getting new wheels and tires for my 2022 ZL1. Which TPMS sensors do I need? I will probably go with OEM vs aftermarket. A little reasearch shows me that there are 2 types: XL7 = 315 MHz and XL8 = 433 mHz. How do I know what I currently have....does it matter....can I mix and match? I also know to get the relearn tool from Amazon. Thanks.

I purchased some from wild hammer motorsports, they're OEM and they aren't cheap. I believe they were $160.00 for 4 if I remember correctly.

I bought these sensors earlier this year and have put about 15k miles on them and have not had any problems.

Just be careful with "OEM" from EBay or Amazon. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is. There are A LOT of copies going around that are hard to tell apart from the OEM ones. The ones posted above seem to be coming from the ACdelco store, so you should be fine (if they are the correct ones)

There was a part # change in 19 or 20, that 1359878 might be wrong for the OP's '22 ZL1.

ZL1 is going to be the same as SS 1LE.
I have a '22 SS 1LE. It is 433 MHZ. The RPO code is XL8. You'll have to scan the code on the sticker in your door jamb. That will give you your RPO codes. A ZL1 is going to be XL8.

My source shows 13540605 for a '22 ZL1.
I bought (4) 13540605 for my race wheels. They worked perfect this summer. I believe the sensor comes with everything except the nut. I also bought part #13581557 which is the nut I used.

Just as Juniorss mentioned, beware of Amazon or ebay sourced "OEM" sensors. They could be knockoffs. From my experiences, buy only OE from reputable sources (rockauto, dealers, or online GM dealers). The OE sensor batteries last much longer than aftermarket sensors.

13598787 are the correct OEM tire pressure sensors for a '21 ZL1 and they work perfectly. Yes, Amazon & Ebay have a lot of scam/knockoff parts such as fake NGK spark plugs, etc. As you can see these are from the AC Delco store which is a real supplier of OEM GM parts. I have an Autel TPMS tool which clearly shows the part # of the sensor which I have purchased 3 times for a total of 12 sensors. They also worked perfectly in my '17 ZL1 so all of the part # change information may not be anything which matters. There may be other part #s as there are redundancies with TPMS sensors. The one above 13598787 comes with all of the parts too as shown in the pic Sephx1 has posted. My factory sensor was that exact part #. The good thing about Amazon is if for some reason you feel the part is incorrect, you can send it back for a full refund. I see no reason any worry had to be injected in this post when the info I posted is 100% accurate and can be trusted implicitly. Merry Christmas to all!

Dont buy the GM ones from Amazon...I went thru 3 sets in 1.5 years. Cost me more in labor to fix then i saved from buying thru Amazon. Packaging looked legit, but every few months they would fail.

Finally switched to Autel TPS218, so far so good!

Who would have thought there would be so many TPMS sensors for GM cars. When I check GM parts store or GM parts direct they tell me "85529685" for a 2022 ZL! and "13598787" for 2019-2021. Why the he!! would GM make a change/switch like that? Taking me longer to choose TPMS sensors than the wheels/tires.

A lot of times it has to do with the supplier.

New PN can get issued if something in the previous one gets changed. A new battery supplier, maybe something in the transmit chain went end of life... lots of reasons.

They won't reuse the same old PN because of keeping an eye / tracking failures, returns, etc especially with anything carrying an automotive use PN.

There are TONS of hoops to jump through (I used to deal with auto & space parts in my previous position at my company)

I merely injected what is correct per GM's own parts system. No speculation, No worries. The OP is free to make his own decision based on multiple viewpoints or sources.

13598787 also doesn't show up on AC Delco's parts catalog site (parts-catalog.acdelco.com) for a '21 or '22. The fact is, that # is not showing up on either source (or any other GM parts source I looked at) as correct for the stated years, and this also can be taken as trusted and accurate info. But in all fairness, based upon your experiences of success, your info is also accurate and trusted. The fact that it includes the nut may be a great find considering the sensor works perfect.

All good information here and all appreciated...I didn't order my TPMS sensors without personal research because the information and parts catalogs had a bunch of different part #s and I didn't know what to do. So, the solution was to break down the tire and see what was in the factory ZL1 wheel and order exact that part #. The part # is 13598787 stamped on the sensor and it may have a new # which supersedes this one. My '21 manufactured in Dec '20 has 13598787 and they work and link to the car using the proper tool. I will take a pic of the screen on the Autel unit to show everyone in a few minutes.
