I'm perplexed that GM has not yet released the 2016 Camaro. Detroit and Chicago shows have come and gone and nothing.

To compare... Ford released photos of the 2015 Mustang in Dec 2013... and had the car at both auto shows. The 2014 C7 Corvette was debuted a day before the 2013 Detroit auto show.

Which makes me wonder if there is some issues with the car??? The 1967 Corvette was supposed to be a C3 but GM hastily had to keep the Gen 2 car in 1967.... one of the reasons the car has minimal badging compared to 1966 model. There was no 1983 Corvette... at least partially due to quality/parts issues.

and the other odd thing is why did GM refresh the Camaro in 2014 and only run it for 2 years. Running it for 3 years makes more sense to me.

Aren't the Order Guides usually available in April? That's not too far away.

Any other examples of cars being released this late???

Let's keep a couple of things in perspective here:

1. The Oshawa flexplant will NOT be producing a Camaro past MY 2015

2. Lansing Grand River IS slated to produce the 2016 Camaro.

3. GM has to choose a balance between making information public early (the earlier this is done, the greater the advantage is to the competition) vs. later (keeping their cards close to the vest until the last minute has its advantages for the home side). GM has its reasons - they know how to do this better than we do... and history indicates they seem to like bringing things to a fever pitch with introductions of cars that are enthusiast-oriented.

4. As for other vehicles, remember that Cadillac unveiled the 2016 CTS-V just last month (and available August '15). GM would like to give each of its new vehicles their "time in the spotlight" by not diluting the impact of each vehicle with too many intros bunched together over a short period of time. The 2016 Cadillac ATS-V was unveiled in November at the L.A. show. Both ATS-V and CTS-V will be available for retail purchase at the same time.

Another example.. CT6 is a 2016 model and it hasn't officially been revealed either. I think they're just being tight lipped.

The first year of the 6th gen will be a 2016 MY car....GM can reveal it to the public and start production the next day if they wanted to....We will see the car soon enough

No, it is not delayed.

GM refreshing the Camaro for 2014 is not odd. GM refreshed Cruze for 2015 and a new model is due next year. Same deal with Equinox, refresh for 2016 and the D2XX model in 2017.

Just freaking wait.

Just to give an idea of spacing, Caddy reveals the ATS-V in November '14, CTS-V in Feb.'15 and the CT6 unveil is slated for Mar.31 '15 in New York. All are 2016 models available Aug-Sept. 2015.

Another aspect to consider, is that the earlier the car is unveiled prior production, the longer the speculation about pricing remains in play. GM may or may not wish to encourage a long period of speculation with respect to pricing as traditionally, pricing is announced officially as close as is reasonably possible to availability. Camaro is very price sensitive and there is no need for the competition to know pricing any earlier than they need to.

FWIW there is (and has been) quite a "lively" discussion going on in the CTS-V community involving where the price of the new V3 will end up - considering it is a given that the car will take a significant jump up in price from the V2 model - but just how much is anybody's guess at this point.

How dare you sir , I tried a thread similar to this and it was so hot they closed her down. I learned around here GM is God ,they mean to miss all the car shows with potential buyers its the marketing strategy and you sir are never to question them.

Dude.. It's been pretty much debunked. Have you seen how many 2016 new/refreshed mdoels they have just shown in the last month?

Why is it so hard to believe they are waiting until New York? If we don't see it at the New York show, then we should maybe be worried.
