GM halted turbo 4 production
Dealer called and said GM halted all turbo4 production. No reason given. No start up date given. That scared me considering I went though the turbo4 issues with my 2013 ATS lease. I thought the engine would have had all the bugs worked out by now and was the only reason I originally ordered that build. However I decided to not take any chances and upgraded to V6. Order is still expected in March perhaps sooner according to dealer. They even gave me a discount because I had the option of walking away.

Sometimes the dealer may be correct.
There are several threads about the delay in production, including one from ofer who ordered his four banger through Rodgers Chevrolet. Laborsmith |

Was it because they misplaced the other four pistons? Kidding. What problems did it have in the caddy?
I was eager to see how this thing performed. |

Isn't the ltg an upgraded version of the LNF? If not maybe they should've went that way.

There's a management & union conflict here. I'll look into it.

This means no 2016 Camaro with the 2.0T I'm guessing? Looks like they're going to have to wait until 2017 to release the Camaro with the turbo. I was looking forward to buying a turbo Camaro for the 2017 year anyway...

This engine is already in production for the CTS and ATS and will soon be in the CT6 Cadillac, not sure if this is legit or what.... maybe with V-6 and V-8 expected early demand they made the choice to prioritize those over 2.0T until they can get enough of them out.

All I know is the wait will be well worth it. I drove an LNF with a 5-speed for 8 years. That car was so fun! The LTG will be even better!

I've had no problems with my 13 Malibu turbo, its been flawless. Runs great, great mileage. I think it will be really popular in the Camaro, wish it had a few more ponies, maybe 325 would be a good round number or at least the same as the mustang ecoboost.. I'd probably wait for that one, but its basically has the same as my Malibu but about 350 lbs lighter which is good.

There was a reflash of the 2.0T in the ATS. Due to a detonation issue potentially leading to engine failure. This was not a major issue. It's been flawless in our ATS.
May or may not be due to an engine problem, but unless they recalibrated it for more HP, I doubt it's an actual engine problem. Otherwise they would halt production of ATS, CTS, CT6 and the launch of the new Malibu. But if as LovePhenom suggests, all models with the 2.0T would be impacted. Could be as suggested demand is so high (no evidence of that) that they are just going to keep building the more profitable combinations and not bring in a even lower priced model yet.
