I heard that Ferrari was revamping their F1 design to incorporate some ZL1 design features after the ZL1 lapped an Enzo during testing at Monza .

And I heard and you can goggle this....aliens have been spotted outside the GM production center trying to abscond with some ZL1 powerplants for for intergalactic space travel.

Ferrari is not even looking at the Z06 and neither are the aliens so the ZL1 has to be better, right?
21st century bud HI-C replaced Kool aid.

What is the top speed for the ZL1? I saw 184 on the Autoweek review but then read the convertible will be "limited" to 185 for safety reasons which infers the hardtop goes faster...

Z06 has much better acceleration and has a higher top end speed... not sure where your getting this.

Z06 - Lap time 7:22.68
vs
ZL1 - Lap time 7:41.27

The z06 smoked it around the track, they aren't even in the same universe. Clearly the ZL1 is not getting to 170 faster

Actually the limit on the drop top ZL1 is 155. FWIW - The base Vette is limited at 186, the Z06 at 202, and the ZR1 at 212.

Ring times are difficult with different starting parameters. If the ZL1 was timed to be faster than the Z06 is was because the Z06 had a standing start and the ZL1 had a flying start.

I think all that Ferrari is interested in is the MR suspension right?

I think vettes still use leaf springs.

nope. I have read teh ZL1 vert will be limted at 155 but a base vet is not limited, the Z06 and ZR1 are not limted either.

they quote 192 on the base vet I never had mine over 175.

they quote the Z06 at 198 which is drag limted but depending on conditions could be faster or slower. 185 is the fasted I have ever had my Z06

they quote the ZR1 at 205. the ZR1 is the one american car I have seen break 200 in controled tests unmodified. the one I rode it we just ran it up to like 170 but it pulled there the easiet and quickest of the the 3 for sure it was retarded. I though my z06 hit 170 fast till I rode in that car.

I think the 2008 viper might break 200 in novice hands as well unmodified.

most of the other cars just need too much runway to get there or it is so close to the cars max conditions sometimes will not allow it.

He also said the ZL1 would beat the GT500 in several performance metrics

hmmm. I have read it in several places but maybe it is just poeple saying that because the shelby is and that the ZL1 would be as well. maybe it is not. somebody has to know as people have them on order.
