You are remembering correctly. Personally I hope it’s calendar year 2024 because that would possibly mean a model year 2025 is likely. I also remember one article claiming 2026 was the final year although since that article came out many more articles came out claiming 2024 (again not specifying model year or calendar year).

All I can say in respect to this and the OP's note:

If you want one of these cars, get to it.

This may be eerily similar to the Buick Grand National that ended production on Dec 11th, 1987. That was the last year for this car. It was CALENDAR year as noted above.

Even though I have a 2016 Ford Mustang GT, I plan on getting a 2023-24 Chevy Camaro LT1 before they are gone for good. Only option for my 6-sp manual LT1 would be the extra-cost red paint.

Love both of these cars and I want to keep enjoying them for many years to come!

That’s how I got my 87 GN, they extended the production run. Rules are you can’t cross the calendar year without changing the model year, which would have meant certifying to 1998 regulations. Maybe the same for Camaro. So they can build a 2024 Camaro until December 31st 2024.

Happy to see Chevy will keep building the ultimate gas powered sports muscle car. If I hit the lottery I will get another. But you cannot win if you do not play.

I hope it gets the LT2 IM. I still have one and a Corvette cover. Around 15 RWHP with no tune needed.

Do it Chevy, you will sell more V8 Camaros with that HP bonus.

Well, this is definitely good news if true. Maybe the Camaro has a few years left, even.

I think GM has already done a very good job setting the framework for the next 2-3 years in their electrification goals, and they are still coming out some really beautiful looking all-new ICE-based cars like the new Colorado, and the Trax got a very surprisingly big upgrade for its next generation.

I can see a place for the Camaro in the product portfolio for those looking for a performance sedan, and it dovetails nicely with the Corvette, which starts at the $60k mark for those who want top tier. Ford must think there's enough of a market left too, or they wouldn't have released a new Mustang just now.

It's pretty crazy to consider the following:

- 5th gen: 2010-2013 (4 years)
- 5th gen refresh: 2014-2015 (2 years)
- 6th gen: 2016-2018 (3 years)
- 6th gen refresh: 2019-2024 (6 years)

Will there be a 3rd refresh of the 6th gen at this point? I know their engineering teams have been pulled away from it, but maybe they can manage to upgrade the navigation unit to Android Automotive like a lot of MY2023 cars are now moving to.

If GM can keep the production running until 2026 (10 years after the launch of the 6th Gen) that would be awesome. I won’t feel as pressured to save my pennies to get an SS.

Man I hope so. Just got on 2 dealer waitlists for a zl1, was told by both I wouldn't get an allocation unless they go into a MY24.

Damn.

See if you can snag one in transit or on a dealer lot.
Thats what I did.

I was told by every dealer I contacted that they couldn't guarantee an allocation if I ordered a 2023 ZL1 1LE.
