I've owned 2 Camaros with MRC. I do not mis it at all in spirited street driving. My LT1 with the same tires handles every bit as well as my 2016 2ss.

There’s a Camaro for everybody’s wants and needs.
Wanna go fast in a straight line for not a lot of money? And have room to mod it to go even faster? LT1. You wanna go fast in a straight lane and be able to kick the Dragon in its Tail and handle like a champ? SS. You want to be able to roast cars costing double and triple the price on the road course? SS 1LE. You want to do all of that plus have enough power to hang with Vettes, Shelby’s, and Hellcats? ZL1. Get what suits you best.

the point of my post was to point out a cheaper alternative not many know about. The 1LE is a great deal at $7000, but if you do not have $7000, then getting the suspension package for half the price is a good ALTERNATIVE.

From my experience taking an LT1 on a twisty road with the same tire setup as a 1SS (that did not have a 1LE package or MRC) I did not really see a different in handling. A stock LT1 will be limited due to 245s in rear but with 275s it equals the playing field. I have not taken a MRC SS on the twisties so I am not sure.

Great question, with many possible and speculative answers. However, to answer your question, one would need to look at the residual acquisition prices stated in each lease to compare model level info. I don't have access to that.

Its the same suspension, wheels and tires. Obviously SS has 275 rears. Things change when you upgrade those wheels and tires to 305 rears and 285 fronts, but MRC is a further upgrade in handling with those same wheels/tires. The pizza cutters they use on the LT1 and non 1LE non MRC SS's are just that pizza cutters. You don't feel the handling difference until you upgrade to 305/285 tires.

Perhaps I misunderstood. Yeah, if an LT1 has the same tires as the SS they should handle the same. The LT1 on its stock tires vs the SS on its stock tires, no.

Yep, bigger tires and wheels and the LT1 handles awesome.
One of the most pronounced non mag ride verse mag ride features (at least in my opinion), is the the pronounced nose lift on the non mag ride car, at full throttle. I personally like the nose lift. It adds a little drama and reminds me of cars I had when I was a kid. At full throttle in my previous ZL1, it lifted a bit then settled right down. |

Have you owned both cars and a ZL1? Just sayin. And in a straight line my LT1 is faster than my SS was at Atco. Same tires.

I agonized over the LT1 w/ RS vs 1SS for several weeks. I did a series of large print-outs with side-by-side renderings, I researched resale values, and I downloaded electrical info from ACDelcoTDS for both. The cost difference (due to RS package on the LT1) was under $2k while the resale difference was over $5k, so it seemed like the better buy (not that I plan on selling ever).
All of the performance upgrades for the 1SS seemed like such a good deal for the small price bump. I kind of liked the LT1/RS aesthetic more and the aggressive nose on the SS had to grow on me. I was trying to keep the OTD under $50k (with taxes, delivery, fees, etc.) I liked the idea of a 2SS for the tech but i'm also happy I don't have constraint items either.

The numbers don't add up is my point. They are underquoting for the LT1's lease or overquoting the 1SS's lease. Yes I checked Chevy and got the same numbers as you did for base LT1 and base 1SS lease, which tells me that Chevy's site is obviously making a mistake. No way that a 3500 lower MSRP warrants a discount of 10128.
