The XM on my wifes car just expired and the 1 year free service runs out on my car next month. I called to see if there were any renewal(Retention) deals they could offer and was met with an astounding NOOO!!!
Anyone getting any good renewal deals?? No way i'm gonna pay $200++ per car, just not worth it.

Wait a month or two and you will get spammed with a 6 month offer for $30 for basic XM. Each car I have gets an email and a letter every month with that offer. Keep trying to negotiate even further because it used to be 6 months for $25 before their price increase. :(

Ignore the 'NOOO!' It's a scam. The longer you wait the better the deals roll in to keep you on. The last deal offer I received was like $5 a month after it expired, but I didn't bite cause I upgraded from gen5 to gen6. A friend of mine got the same deal offers when he refused to pull the trigger near the end of his free year and he drove a Chrysler SUV.

Yes a few weeks after mine expired on my 16 Traverse I landed the 6 months for $29.99, and just re-did the 6-month plan 2 weeks ago for another $29.99

If you have multiple radios you can put them on the same account and save on the second radio. You need to ask for this or they will try and charge you the full price for both.

It also works to phone them and threaten to cancel as 'you cannot afford' the service. I've easily gotten the $30 for 6 month deal with this multiple times in a row.

I never use this service. Not even when I had it for free. I got offers and calls often...every month or two months.

I have a co-worker that has the service. He also gets the $30 for 6 months deal. He says he calls and threatens to cancel.

Just ask for the 30$ for 6 months and keep renewing at that price. I have 3 cars with xm and always get that price.

Ditto! We have three cars with Sirius/XM on them - third 6 month renewal on one, second on another, and the first on the Camaro. Just make sure you keep track of the dates they expire and cancel BEFORE that date, or they will start charging your card on file the $18 and change per month immediately. I always tell them I don't feel their service is worth $18/month, but am willing to pay $5/month. So far, so good.

Yeah, like others are saying, just don't renew it and they will send you deals for $30 for 6 mo and if you wait longer it goes down more. Another option is to pay for a different subscription on your phone and just plug that into the apple car play and use that (Pandora, spotify, or itunes ect)

when my brother got a $25 for 6mo offer in the mail and I told them to give me the same or cancel it. I got it. Then when that was up they offered me 1 year all access for $125. when that was up for renewal I told them it wasnt worth the renewal price so they gave me another 12mo for 125. Call them and tell them your friend was offered 6mo for $30 and you want that too or you wont renew. It doesnt cost them anything to provide the individual with service. They are already paying to keep the service operational. The more subscribers the more profit.
