Like I've seen hundreds of Chevy ads over the past year. None for the Camaro.
I don't think more ads will make much difference.
I have never seen a Ford Mustang Commercial on tv, nor a targeted internet ad.

I see Camaro's in several Chevy commercials (usually with 4 other cars).

What would make a difference:

-An SS model at the same price of a GT. You can get a brand new GT with Performance Package out the door with taxes for about 32k.

-Improve visibility. It turns people off. Lower the door sil. It shouldn't be above shoulder line.

Backseat room could be improved by sacrificing trunk space, but Im not sure how big of a factor this is. The Mustang has slightly better backseat room, but its really only the Challenger that can be used regularly (comfortably) as a 4 seater.

Visibility and Price are the biggies. Visibility is a critical aspect of driving. The rear pillar is huge.

I think a future refresh could go for a little less transformers and a bit smoother more rounded look.

The 2018 refresh is pretty substantial:

Higher Hp, more torque.
Adding Port and direct fuel injection.
Increased Compression ratio.
Higher redline.
Numerous changes to every aspect of the coyote except the camshaft.

Standard GT gets parts from current performance package.
Active quad exhaust.
Magneride.
10 speed Auto available.
Twin Disk Clutch.
Dual Mass flywheel.

New Digital display available.
Numerous new wheel options.

Two performance package options.

If they are smart they will add the ford performance power pack tune/components for the Ecoboost as a base standard component.

it's already selling very well. sales aren't going to double. by those reasons the camaro should be in 1st place in sales.

I just read a report that for the first 11 months of 2016, GM sold over 500,000 cars to fleet. They were in 2nd. Ford sold over 700,000 to fleet. Did not realize this many cars are fleet cars.

You have to give Ford credit. They understand how iconic the Mustang is and really tap into it's entire storied heritage for design/styling cues which helps it appeal to a broader age spectrum of buyers. Besides plucking package and model names from the past; GM seems to only acknowledge the Camaro (for design/styling cues) from the 5th gen forward.

I am hoping the SS 1LEs to be in the -20+% off MSRP category at that point
Speaking about 1LE... I know the purists don't want to hear it, but the future 1LE should have the A10 as an option. Even the current 2017 1LE, should have the A8 as an option. The new automatics are arguably faster cars than manual cars more and more. Paddle shifting on a race track will get you better lap times, F1 race cars are doing it for a loooong time for a reason.

I'm sure GM has tested the ZL1 1LE with the M6 and A10. There's probably a reason the A10 isn't offered on the ZL1 1LE.

I'm a die hard manual guy, but GM cannot ignore that fact the most people these days are not, especially the critical 20-40 demographic that the Camaro is missing.

To be fair, being manual-only has not affected GT350, or 2012-13 Boss 302 or 2013-14 GT500 sales.

Rumor is that there will be an automatic GT350 but it might be a DCT instead of the A10. I'm guessing the A10 will land in the 1LE at some point.

Plain and simple guys, it's not really rocket science. The Camaro is very overpriced period! I wanted one and bought one knowing the 5.0 was a better buy for the money but preferred the ss. Gm priced this car about 6-12k too high (depending on options). Think about how many people would want a Camaro ss over a 5.0 but just don't want to pay 5K minimum more for a daily driver fun car. I love this car a whole lot but 48k for a damn Camaro is near insanity.

Also like another member posted that I agree with is that most 20-40 year olds are buying civic si's, golf's, etc not really muscle type cars. Mustang is dominating because they offer a damn good package at a somewhat reasonable price for those wanting a muscle car.

I don't understand what all this bitching and moaning is about. Either you love your car or you don't. The only thing you don't want to see happening is a repeat of 2016 when there were tons of leftover cars sold at 20% off because that will knock your car down if you are not keeping it long term.
