Actually...yes there IS a stock catch can. Its just not perfectly "ideal". It captures the oil fed to it from the CCV "Crank Case Ventilation" lines which helps, and dumps the caught oil directly back into the oil pan. But there is still the other ventilation line that could use attention. So many people are adding another can in addition to the stock can.

I don't see the point in the catch can , if you got corvette money or camaro money why not just buy the extended warranty and drive the damn car . If it blows up then warranty .
