The AMT 1LE in plastic from my OP above arrived today.

Murphy's Law box showed up damaged, but parts were fine.

Overall the kit looks pretty good. 1LE rims look well represented in graphite colored plastic. Several decals for details.

I bought a Garnet Red 1:18 scale from here:

They have them in Blue, Garnet Red, Black and Red Hot.

I just love this model. I restore old Airplane Models for museums (in retirement). I will put this one in the paint booth. What it needs to match my (yet to arrive) 1LE is painting the hood and wheels satin black. The brackets on the rear spoiler can be lowered, filled and painted flat black and I will have the perfect model. It is very heavy and I couldn't believe the quality. Pleasantly surprised. This is a great model!!

That is the company making the SS 1LE...you may just want to wait until they make it later this year, will be less work for ya.

Here's the diagram from the back of the box showing all the parts included in the kit...and what colors they are molded in. The 3 colors referenced are black (body and interior), dark gray (chassis) and dark metallic gray (wheels). The entire body is well scaled.

Model's seats are all black molded and could pass for Recaros.

Care to paint a AMT kit white for me? I'd pay you...I have no place to paint, and living in FL, the humidity makes it tuff.
