Brake dust?
Has anybody found a way to contain the crazy amount of brake dust these cars produce? I've already switched to ceramic pads but I still have this problem

Unfortunately no, I just clean them every time I am done with the car for the day...I am meticulous like that! My wheels are coated with Blackfire Crystal seal, it comes right off with a MF towel and some detailer.

The only thing to make of the brake dust is having damn good protectant on the base of the car. I use Hydro2 for wheels now and will be doing the BF Cystal seal next for the entire car so you can just wipe off any residue like the brake dust off with just a MF towel and a quick detailer. |

The split spoke 20" wheels are easy to get your hand inside to clean, even with larger hands.

I checked a few weeks back on that brand but I haven't seen from them yet....I do really do any hard driving or stopping so would the cover affect braking that bad?

No, it wont, youre right....not for a DD, If you find a set you like, post them here, most of the ones I've always seen just dont look professional… you also lose some valuable space between the wheel and the caliper, a good rock can really scratch things up

I detailed my car yesterday evening and was very surprised at the huge amount of brake dust. I'm sure one of my mods will be changing the pads to ceramic. That ended or drastically reduced the problem on my Corvettes and they stop better once warmed up.

I got some carpro hydrO2 and coated my wheels. It makes them clean up a lot faster now. Not as much brake dust sticks to them and it wipes off quicker.
You can get it on Amazon, Autopia, and autogeek for good pricing

The wheels aren't as bad now since I went to ceramic pads but the dust gets all over the car .Maybe it's because my car is white but it's horrible

Sonax makes awesome wheel cleaner. It will help cut down on the brake dust sticking to the wheels after you treat them. Be warned the stuff stinks but does amazing work.
