Other than this one issue I agree. This car has blown me away so much that I haven't even cared to see what the haters have to say. I'm 100% sold bottom line.
My big fear is that their statement "at least 200lbs, depending on model", is the DISCLAIMER for the SS being only a few lbs lighter than the 5th Gen. Im REALLY hoping for a 3700ish weight. But man....that car has so many beautiful ammenities, that Im nervous about that being able to happen.

Chevy made a great sports car, the interior, the new LT1 and 200lbs lighter. I feel the car lost some of its presence though, I know people wanted a smaller camaro, but the proportions look taller and stumpier. Its not a bad thing but the 5th gen definitely has more presence than this one.

So I did not see anything about a performance data recorder. Which makes me think that we have performance models yet to be revealed. I like it overall, but why put the ss emblem on read drivers side bumper.

Chevy did a nice job, not a single disappointment thus far. Zl1 is on my radar.

This seems to state the 200lbs will be across the board.

ALL NEWLightweight architecture and chassis systems
Approximately 70 percent of the architectural components are unique to Camaro. Through extensive computer-aided engineering, structural rigidity was increased by 28 percent, while the body-in-white mass was reduced by 133 pounds (60.5 kg).

In their quest to make the 2016 Camaro as lean as possible, engineers and designers evaluated every aspect of its architecture – already the most mass-efficient ever created by GM – and supporting elements, saving grams here and pounds there that contributes to the car’s lower curb weight. As a result, the total curb weight for Camaro has been reduced by more than 200 pounds (90 kg).

Significant weight savings came from using an aluminum instrument panel frame instead of steel, which saved 9.2 pounds (4.2 kg). The use of lightweight components, including aluminum front suspension links and steel rear suspension links with lightening holes, in the new five-link rear suspension system contributed to a 26-pound (12 kg) reduction in the overall suspension weight. With the lighter, stiffer architecture and more powerful engines, the Gen Six Camaro SS delivers better lap times than the fifth-generation’s track-focused Camaro 1LE package.

Thought they said the data meters will be shown on the 8 in screen?

Really am impressed by the exterior from three views...I'm not sure about the rear end as of now, but it may grow on me. Great job Chevy...you guys are awesome! Interesting that all four wheels are the same size at 20 inches. Wonder if the tires will be the same front and rear as in the 1LE?

Now...I would have to be cautious with my power train selections. Firstly, it appears the automatic and manual will have the same HP rating unlike the 5th gen which is a good thing. In the C7 Vette, the automatic puts a major whooping on the stick at the drag strip, maybe by as much as 3/10s of a second...I'm assuming that the Camaro gets the same fast shifting auto as the Vette. In the Vette, the automatic transmission is actually lighter than the manual. Not sure that would apply to a 6 speed in the Camaro or not.

Since that translates into a Camaro SS which is faster around a track than a 1LE...WOW! They didn't say if it was the standard suspension or the magnetic shocked car that beat the 1LE. I'm guessing it was the magnetic shocked car.

I love my C6 Grand Sport Vette, but this new Camaro is surely impressive. It depends on the weight and pricing, but I could see me in one.

At least 200 lbs depending on model sounds exactly like 200 lbs worse case scenario. As in some models lose even more. If this isn't true not gonna lie I'll be a little pissed.

Wow. Very nice interior. Well. Everything seems quite good to be honest. The exterior is definitely an evolution and not a revolution as expected. I think the exterior is going to grow on us also. I remember when the mustang came out and many people including me did not like it. But it grew on me..

Very funny to stop by on mustang6g and get their reaction as well.
