Same for the 2014...my 2014 SS rear spoiler is exactly same as the 2014 SS/1LE, except the color.

Yes but the new rear spoiler is considerably more aggressive... plus the vented hood.

A while back I ran a spreadsheet simulation that came up with high 160's, maybe 170 at a little past 6000 rpm in 5th if the limiter was disabled or run up to a speed past that. Takes about four miles to get there, and once you're above 130 or so you can't lift. Beyond 160 you can't so much as think of breathing off the throttle else it'll take you more than a tenth of a mile to get back the speed you threw away.

I read it was different some where just found the article.

(D52) Unique rear spoiler now included in (1LE) SS Performance Package

I read it was more aggressive for down force, Is this just the color?

Hm...maybe I was wrong...I compared mine with pictures of 1LE spoilers on the forum, but will rely on someone else who has compared side-by-side.

I'm by no means an expert. I'm new to this world but, I also found a video of GM describing the difference and in the 1le(ITS A VERY GOOD VIDEO) and Uncle Al GM's chief engineer describes the wing as a difference on the 2013 1LE as well so its not just the 2014.

Lift is not something that you will instantly feel, and make you say, "oh my Allah, I'm lifting now!"

It is something that will show on the clock though, when going around the Nurburgring say.

Not what I was looking for, but here is a Car and Driver excerpt concerning Z28 vs SS.

"More than cosmetic, these changes develop net downforce, versus the Camaro SS, which has about 200 pounds of lift at 150 mph. Moreover, Stielow says that having more downforce in the rear than in the front enhances stability. There’s even an accessory Gurney flap that attaches to the rear wing for more."

I also recall reading on this very forum homepage, that the Z28 rear wing aero package provides a whopping 400+ lb of downforce at 160mph, whereas again, it mentions the SS creates lift.

I'm too lazy to find it now, but trust me, it's there.

I'll finish off though by saying, extra downforce does create a penalty on overall Cd. That means peak top spead (the topic here) might be less on a car creating more downforce .

So this i understand, and makes sense. So for the rest of you, going top speed, just do it and have fun,you wont have any issues, cause it's not something you will ever experience while running 155 mph for a couple seconds.

Ran 130 and 145 yesterday in my '14.. Planted, solid and could tell there was plenty more to go at 145. Needless to say, I backed down with another 2 miles of straight road ahead. I didn't need to prove anything else to myself so i slacked her back.

It will still feel like there's plenty more left until you get to within maybe 8 - 10 mph of your car's true top speed (IOW, not what any limiter might hold you down to).

When you get to within about 3 or 4 mph and it now takes 3 or 4 or more seconds to add just one more mph, you'll probably wonder if anything at all is still happening.

I've run mine up to the 155 cut off once, she pulled like a freight train all the way!

I usually shut it down at 145-150 just for good measure whether I'm in front or behind. If you know what I mean
