This will take a couple years to make it to the production floor - I for one, will not wait, but would trade in my SS for it when it does come out. *smitten* --kC |

This is a big deal for Buick. I could see me getting out of this car in jeans or a suit. --kC |

It looks like a 4 door sedan turned into coupe. Like the 04 GTO and we know how well that went over. The roof line is to long probably for rear passengers. Engineers replacing designers.
Not good. The Camaro looks much better. The new mustang kind of has the pooping dog rear end.

maybe it will grow on me, but sounds like the opposite of their marketing campaign of "it's not your grandpa's car anymore". IMO.

Hopefully the production car looks as much like this one as possible (the interior can and will change), and has a different name.

I am one of those "those that for forget history are doomed to repeat it". And it was Mark Reuss (I have max respect for him, btw) whose father Loyd tried to turn Buick into another performance car company with T-types and Grand Nation and GNX. He pulled from Buick's history from when GM OWNED the market and each division had it's own big block engine. In an effort to try and revive Buick in the 80's he tried to go performance........and failed. Buick exists for China. Period. As much as I love the Avista and Avenir Buick will always have a hard row to hoe. Treading lightly between Chevrolet and Cadillac needs a special type of car. And going back to GN and GNX, although exciting for us enthusiasts will fail to fill that niche. Keep in mind, Audi has the A3, Q3 and is working on a Q1. BMW has X1 and 1 and 2 Series cars. MB has a FWD sedan just over $32,000 in the CLA. Everyone is going down market to win volume. So Cadillac will either follow or GM will try the, "oh if you want a $30,000 SUV/Car, you should buy a Buick". If GM can pull off a true Buick revival in the US, it will be a true feat. That being said, go price a Chevy Traxx and a Buick Encore. For about $3,000 more you get way more car with the Buick including options the Chevy doesn't have, i.e. leather seats. Why would anyone not buy the Buick is beyond me when for that $3,000 you also get an extra year of warranty, 4 years vs. 3.

Anyone wonder if the Avista started out as a rejected Camaro proposal?

I have been told that is how Hyundai works. First place in the design contest becomes a Hyundai while the second place design then becomes the Kia. Not sure if that is still the case as they have built brand identity now for both brands.

This is the part I don't get. I admit I am not to up on what models go to China, but are cars built here then shipped there? If so I get it, but if its only China exclusive models over there, why is Buick still here
