is 100k too many miles???
Gonna get a convertible 2ss this week for 15k but it has 110k on it. Is that too many miles? I test drove it and everything felt fine but im thinking the miles is why it's priced so low.

OP, you can also take a look at the average MPG and average speed. It can give you an idea if it was mostly freeway miles.

I agree with the statements above... Honestly motors today are so well built that 100k for mileage is nothing these days. My last 2006 Silverado is still being driven by a friend who bought it from me with 180k and it now has over 300k. He has done nothing but common maintenances and its still going strong.

The 2011's had some issues on the 5th bow on the convertible tops. Maybe see if its been fixed or give it a real good look over. I think it basically caused some wear or perhaps tears in the tops iirc.
Not too many problems with V8 Camaro's and there are a number on here in that mileage range still running strong. |

My thoughts/experiences on cars/trucks is that chassis, body, and accessory issues start appearing in the area about where this car is. Engines seem to be good for 250-400k miles. But water pumps, ac compressors, alternators, and especially belt idlers/tensioners won’t go that far very often. Ball joints, bushings, shocks, steering links start loosening. My preference is to buy cars with under 40,000miles because I drive a lot.

Get a shop you trust to check it out. As others said, I'd be more concerned with brakes, suspension, belts, hoses, etc., than the engine.

The spark plugs aren't due to be changed until 100K miles.

Don’t trust carfax. Many places never report repairs. And for accidents, if no police reports or insurance claims were made then they probably won’t be on carfax... speaking from experience buying a “No accident” car and finding a ton of bodywork had been done on it.

If it was a 6 I'de pass. They seem to be the most troublesome. Still a lot
of miles though. And if it's an auto your good to go. In 10 years here on camaro5, I don't recall one auto failure. Std trans, clutch, pressure plate- that's a different story.

I would pass. You can get the same thing with way less miles for under $20k. Most people never drive these cars and 5th gen used market is saturated with low mileage jewels. Why settle for this high mileage vehicle?

if we are playing the price is right... its going to depend whats done at that age. Water pump? Hoses? Belts? As others have stated ALOT of 5th gens are garage queens and weekend cars, tons of low mileage jewels waiting for a serious moder or owner.
