You can also go with titanium lug nuts LOL. Those honestly might be one of the dumbest impulse purchases I've ever made. The real deal Ti lug nuts are about $200 for set. They're definitely lighter and much stronger than the fakes on ebay that have aluminum. A lot $ for how much real performance improvement...I have no idea.
man you got everything done to yours. wanna do a project on mine? bone stock

The road noise from no back seat is really bad by the way. i can even hear the fuel slosh around in my gas tank. makes it not fun to drive at higher speeds.

bmr bar style motor mounts are 5.5lbs less for the pair.

factory catch can and oil drain tube is 2lbs.

texas speed is working on a less expensive dod delete valley cover. I am trying to get one and will post up weight savings when I get it. I am better 3+lbs.

front sway bar is 11 lbs.

forgestar 17x4.5 rims with bias ply front runners save something like 64lbs off the front which equates to 102lbs effective savings and that doesn't even include savings from rolling resistance. rear 15x10 forgestar wheels with 325/50/15 drag radials save 32 lbs with and equivalent savings of 42lbs.

550 CCA is a wee bit shy of what the car needs. It will work fine when it's new, but then the cells will degrade and one day you will get an electronic fit. Things might go weird or the car might just die.

Having a backup is a good idea I think. Nice reduction tho. That and lose the suitcase and you can drop 50 pounds.

These guys need to update their website:
http://www.opticarmorwindows.com/app...urer=Chevrolet

I don't see why we couldn't lose around the same weight as a 5th gen doing the front and rear windows, around 27lbs they say. And that's high up on the car.

X bRACE UNDERNEATH the cAR KNOCKs off a tenth . The rims and some other weight reduction tricks have netted a stock tuned convertible 11.75 on stock tires
Only bolt on was green hi flow stock air box filter . Mph picked up 2 also .

I think the nittos will get me 11.60s or better still with stock tune and factory warranty .

The cost of this battery is freaking ridiculous but it's only 11 lbs. Can't find any CCA info though.

I've been running this Duracell Ultra AGM 21lb batt for 2 years now with zero issues, I think it was $169.
Edit; I do replace it with the factory unit in the harsh Northeast corridor winters.

Robert Weathers has done a lot of weight loss mods to his 2017 1LE and has gotten car down to around 3414lbs. CF doors, hood, front fenders, seats, BMR suspension components throughout, DSC MRC coilovers with DSC controller(almost done with testing and out on market for purchase) So much weight lost that he had to add ballast weight to run in USCA autox events. Has to be 95% published corn weight. This car FLIES on road course at 3414lbs. You can bet there aren’t many cars out there in similar size that can beat this car on a road course or autox. Look him up. He also publishes Mad Motor Magazine.

Cheapest way to reduce weight. Is stop eating lol.. seriously if you are a big guy just think you could be adding 30 50 100pounds. Especially if you're racing a small person.. so moral of this stop eating.

I completely agree!!! BUT starting off lighter is a good idea, in saying that, the LT1 is lighter with the same power. Curb weight manual LT1 3619 lbs. Manual 2SS 3,696. These are both coupes, forget the convertible if you are trying to start off light. That's 77 lbs. lighter from the start. And if you want that AMAZING A10 automatic it's 76 lbs. What's the 1SS, the LT1 is 66 lbs lighter still. Something to think about when you are buy the car for speed and you want to save a buck.
