I don't think I've seen a single vehicle made fun of anymore than the 5th gen Camaro on that website.

Can someone give me some insight as to why people think we drive slow turds

Thank you
Jealous is all I can think of.

These tanks walk a 4th gen or a GTO stock for stock.

My 99 TA didn't get into the 12's until I had a Lid, Headers,Free Mods an LS6 intake weight reduction drag radials, shocks and springs swaybar delete and a Frost tune.

Check my sig 13.08 at 108 with a K/N intake and no tune with 1/2 a tank of gas on 275/40/20 Hankooks.

The best part is the 5th doesn't squeek or rattle

The 2011-14 Stang is another matter they are lighter with just as much power I have seen 111/112mph traps with a decent driver.

The thing that killed these cars image was people that didn't know how to drive them at the track( I was one of them when I first got her)

The internet is for kids go to the track and school them

I forgot to mention, everyone over there seems to think that the CTS-V is a god car (It's very nice...but I can't justify the cost vs power against the Camaro).

Also, I think they prefer 4th gen LS1's because they are much cheaper overall than the fifth gen to make faster/run 11s
You want 11's?

If your an L99 A6 a set of LT headers a 3600 Stall,CAI, some trailing arms and drag radials with a good tune should get you there.

Just Look at PSJ's car and the progress he has made.

BTW he had a fast 4th Gen and was one of the founders of LSI Tech.

I see you have a Vert you may also need a small shot of nitrous or a cam swap to get that thing in the 11's

I just purchased a 2012 "turd" three weeks ago. I am so looking forward to the polishing it's about to receive.

It's a turd with sprinkles at the minimum.

Here is my input.

The 5th gen compared to a vast majority of factory production street cars, are slow. Is it a turd? No. Is it fast? Well that is subjective. When "they" stated that the 5th gen is a turd I assume they are referring to the weight to power ratio. Which in a sense does kind of suck, I mean think about it it's a 4000lbs car with 426hp and 420tq (NOT 426whp and 420wtq), that is pretty weak, imo. However, I am not talking shit about out cars because truth is I didn't buy this car for the speed or power or weigh savings, because if you did then you're barking up the wrong tree. If that were the case then you should have bought a Rustang to go fast in a straight line. These cars are TANKS not TURDS. I purchased this car for its styling, history, and its easy ability to enhance performance (easy engines/drivetrain, suspension, etc) and to work on. These cars are really nice and reliable and that is why I prefer them over anything else, also they are cost efficient compared to competing "pony" cars to work on... Again, just my opinion.
