Question Downpipes? Drop in O2 sensors?

So I have everything I’ve done thus far in my signature below.

Curious now about downpipes and cat deletes with options to put the sensor back in come inspection time.

As far as downpipes go I’ve seen ones for the turbo version and headers for the V8, but no downpipes for the V6... Probably be best to just get custom downpipes?

As for the emissions and catback, I know there’s cat deletes out but it’s not the easiest to find a shop to custom pipe it and I don’t have the set up to do the cat delete on my own unlike the rest of the exhaust mods I’ve done.

There used to be options for like drop in O2 sensors where when inspection came around you could pop them back in and then take them back out.

Couple things that also brings to my attention was when I did the AFM delete I had CEL issues. That seems to be resolved now, but I’m assuming the same would happen for the O2 sensors...which then would lead to a tune of course to solve that, but still when inspection time comes around without the sensors I’m screwed...

Curious if anyone has been or is in the same situation as me trying to go forward with underbody mods in a state where it’s frowned upon (meanwhile trucks can puff black smoke and scream all day long). Thanks!

You actually need the O2s before the cat. Without them the car will not run right. The rears(after the cat) are just catalyst monitors, but if you remove them you will get CEL. You would need a tune, or a way to "trick" the ecm to think all is well.

5th gen downpipes mount right up with some bending around the steering rack.. Otherwise you have to have some custom made like I did.

Damn forgot the cats monitor stuff too. This seems like a mess..it was stressful enough with the AFM issue driving me crazy... I’d be down for the tune if need be in the future, but the inspections is where it seems to get tricky. If only there were custom shops that do exactly this all in one stop, I know I wouldn’t be the only one willing to pay for it to be done right once taking care of all the above minus the tune but trying to juggle all this probably is gonna require a good amount of effort, different shops, research, etc it seems like.

Did you miss the part where I said 5th gen downpipes mount right up with a little bending... which means you get highflow cats and o2 sensor bungs etc... flanges are the same

So you can and down pipes to your car with from the 5th gen v6? Hmm has anyone did this? Are you considering doing this Dustya?

Yes I know someone who did.. and no I have custom downpipes from a local fabricator here in FL

How much did those down pipes change your exhaust flow and sound?
