Universal Front mount intercooler installed

Finally got the job done, end cost was 550 bucks. Some bumper trimming had to be done but could be avoided if you pick a different intercooler size. The stock intercooler was left in place and the universal piping snaked around it.

Looks good but one queation. Why was sto k intercooler left? Doesnt it have any significant weight savings by removing it?

I'm sure there would be some weight savings but it's a pain to remove

How much cheaper do you think this could be done? Or is that pretty much as cheap as you could put it together? I want to do an intercooler too, but I'm not sure if 200$ is worth the extra fab work and time piecing everything together VS just buying the prefab kit from ZZP..What's your thoughts now that your done?

First I would get am intercooler with slightly different dimensions, and honestly if you don't mind using a few more couplers the. U wouldn't need a fabricator

Soooo.... if you had to do it again what size would you use, cause ive seen a member use one bigger than yours.??
What size would u recommend base on ur experience? What xtra parts are needed?
Also ZZP is $250 more + shipping i suppose but that still does not include installation.... if i read right it cost u a total of $550 including install shipping ..etc.. ?? Right?

I'd love to know the dimensions of that other person's intercooler. if you mount directly under the crash bar you could get away with a slightly wider and thicker IC, it would just have to be shorter. As far as parts I used 5 couplers, I could have used 4 just on the end attachments but that would require removing the old IC to make room on the hot side. Just be very careful with the AC lines they are weak as heck.

Smart man ^ I am currently looking into Michimoto's universal options. Trying to ask around to see what the biggest IC we can get that will fit. The ZL1 replica bumper will allow for a much bigger IC from a guy I talked to on IG but that is totally not for me.

Ill try and remember to update with any further info.

Gino, hell of a job

I'm going to be finally starting on the intercooler tube and bracket kit, the intercooler I have here is a mishimoto G line.
