I started doing rinse less with ONR but have lately switched over to CarPro ECH2O.

I've used the multiple microfiber towel method but I find towel maintenance and the sheer volume of towels you go through to be a disadvantage.

The rinse less method that has worked well for me is the two bucket method combined with an Esoteric Elite car wash sponge.

http://www.esotericcarcare.com/esote...r-wash-sponge/

This is the best sponge on the market for washing a black car.

Wash from the top down and the chances of marring the paint with this method is just about nil.

I guess I don't understand what's so hard about using multiple towels. I take a trash bag out with me, and after two panels, discard the towel into The bag. Once I've done the whole car and waffle weave'd it dry, I dump that whole bag into the washer, 20 minutes later into the dryer, then they go back on the shelf. I use 5 on the camaro, 4 on my new Honda HR-V......Also the virgin wash water left goes back in a 5 gallon jerry jug which after 4 washes, is enuf to mix a whole new rinseless load for a wash.

You kind of proved my point. When I'm finished washing, I empty and rinse both buckets, rinse the sponge and put everything away for the next time. I don't have to constantly wash, dry and fold towels.

Everyone has a rinse less method they're comfortable with. I just presented one that has worked well for me and saves a little on the towel maintenance and cost.

i think our difference is i dont trust “just rinsing the mitt”, even when i used a mitt, it got machine washed, so the towels are not a stretch for me, its just my normal regimen no matter what the technique. to each his own......

Just get some good quality MF towels for the rinseless. I just do a quick speedwash with hot water and Tide, put them in the dryer on low, takes not even an hour, then fold and put away. Easy as pie, maybe it's me, but I don't mind at all taking care of the towels. Would never use a mitt, don't trust those and they still need to be washed.

I'm not a fan of wash mitts either. After rubbing over a grit guard, I've seen debris still hiding in the nooks and crannies of the mitt.

What makes the Esoteric sponge unique is it has no slits or crevices to trap and hide debris like some of the other sponges on the market. The ONR Big Red and Adams wash wedge are two that come to mind. You can easily see anything stuck to the Esoteric sponge. I quickly run my hand over the sponge after rinsing to further verify nothing is on the sponge.

I use the Chemical Guys Chenille scratch-free mitt. It's the real deal and very well made. I launder it in warm water when I'm done. No issues so far.

My black SS M6 vert sat on the dealer's lot for a year getting washed by the folks who use the same towels on the entire lot of cars so it has swirl marks out the wazoo. I made them replace the red stripes that had faded in the sun and I had them give me $500 towards a professional detail when I bought the car to polish those out so the car looks new again because I didn't trust them to do a decent job. My question is which Optimum non-rinse product are you guys all referring to? Any reason not to use the wash and wax? Any thoughts on the Duragloss product or Adams or Chemical Bros? Lots of options, any reason other than price to pick one over the other? Sorry to hijack the thread but it's perfect timing as the weather is finally warming up so I need to get her cleaned up right!

While I'm not the detail specialist around here, I did start the thread so I will chime in. I use the ONR wash and wax. I like it because it leaves a great shine on the car with minimal effort and adds some protection. If you are planning on doing some things after the wash, like clay, polish etc, stick with just the wash and rinse. At least that's what made sense to me. This is my first rinseless product so I cannot speak for the others but the ONR has exceeded my expectations. And I think it's a great value.

Hey everyone I'm new to the forum and have been reading about ONR. It sounds like a fantastic product so I have ordered microfiber cloths, ONR and waffle weave. Do u guys throw the waffle weave in the washing machine with the microfiber after washing the car, or just wash the microfiber. Thanks

First you should wash/dry them separately before you use.
You could wash them together but I wouldn’t. I don’t mix “for paint” towels. The colored ones will bleed also. I will mix towels that I use on wheels, exhaust, that I don’t use on paint.
