New Camaro break in?
So I’m buying a camaro in Atlanta but I’m in Cincinnati. Right now it has 4 miles on it so I’m wondering if driving it 7 hours back to Cincinnati is good for the new engine.
It’s a 2LT V-6 Thoughts? |

The manual says just dont hold the same RPMs and gear for a long time. So its basically just changing the gears every now and then. Since you will have an 8 Speed it would be good for it to work all the gears as your driving back.
As for the engine, the prescribed break in is dont hold it at the same RPM for too long for the first 100 miles, no full throttle or redline till about 500-1000 miles. In my opinion, just me, I don't think it really matters. Just drive it like you will on a daily basis. Let the engine, tranny, and rear diff warm up before you drive it hard, don't abuse it in the early miles(or not at all lol) and you will be fine. |

Follow these recommended guidelines during the first 2 414 km (1,500 mi) of driving this vehicle. Parts have a break-in period and performance will be better in the long run.

I would drive it sensibly and like everyone has said. It should make for a very nice road trip! Enjoy your new Camaro.

I'm over 800 miles now since Halloween. I'm going to start getting on it a bit.
The power, it's addictive!
