I saw your time slip on the 1/4 mi fast list pushing me down soon lol.

Just burnout the tires till you see a bit of smoke pass you in the driver seat.

And try the 20-22psi tires in the rear.

I had 34 I believe in the front. Can even go to 40 to really cut resistance down some.

GL - that 60 with your overall could get you 11s a few have done it on here already.

I’m sure plenty others who don’t take part in the forums.

He was coming to the strip as well with stuff inside the car, and over a 1/2 tank of gas. He came with 1/4 tank (each gallon of gas weighs 6 lbs.) and removed all the excess stuff from the inside and the trunk. Every 100 lbs. less will equal a solid tenth. He removed around 40-50lbs total.

We also changed the pressure in his tires, starting at 22 and going down. PSI will go up about 2lbs after a burnout, and 18 psi cold gave him the best 60'.

He was also driving through the water box, and on street tires, this will drag water from the front tires up to the line, which will cause wheel spin. So instead he just drove around it, backed up to the damp (not wet) part, and did the burnout there.

After changing all these things, he ran a 7.74 1/8th which would be 12.0X in the 1/4, this was in 1000 DA air, so in better air, an 11.9X is definitely possible.

Best of luck to you and nice pass.
Thanks for the detailed post. I can’t drive around the water box at PBIR in the right lane which was the “best” lane per my 60’ There hose leaks water on to the track. I guess the slight dip there cause the water to run on that side of the track. So you drive thru it.

I feel I do enough burnout to dry the tires off.

The left side its possible to only get one one side tires wet. It’s not wide. They have large concert barriers keeping us in a certain area.

Next trsck is like 2.5 hours further away.

So I get what I get.

Thats nuts. I have a 1LE and ran 8.7 in the 1/8th. I might add that the track really isn't a track its pit road on a circle track. That 1.7 60' is a super good time. Are you sure you werent on drag radials. I did 2.1 60'.

You cant take times at homestead with any kind of seriousness. Its more of a legal street race location.

Yes, also empty the washer fluid and put nitrogen in the tires with valve caps off. The best I could do @ full weight and many tries was 12.3. It all in the launch and minimizing the dreaded M6 bog. Is it real? Maybe.

Post up your times!

Yea, will do. I'm planning on a visit to Rockingham on the 17th. I do not care for our other 1/4 mile track Fayetteville. We have one of the best 1/8th mile tracks anywhere, Galot Motorsports in Dunn. I just don't have a bunch of fun doing 1/8th mile since it's so "slow".

Good Luck. Best I could do was 12.3. Sure those autos are faster but we have more fun! Looking forward to meeting those new Coyotes soon. We shall see how the '18 M6es run. Haven't heard much about them yet.

I won't even mention how my visit went. NO one there was able to hook. Single digit cars let out immediately and most packed up and went home. I'll never return to Rockingham as they did no prep for this TNT. I hadn't been in 3 or 4 years and won't return. Looks like I'll have to deal with Fayetteville or just do 1/8th mile at Galot, which is a world class track.
