HELP!!!!! Injector problems

I have a knock or tick coming from my car. I think it is an injector. I have a 6th Gen Z. Has anyone heard of any defects or such about this? E85 has been done so there went the warranty. Just want to get it fixed. If anyone has input it would be appreciated. I watched a video on youtube of a 5.3 with a bad injector and it sounds the same. No codes being thrown. Drove the car one night and no problem. Next day the problem came. Hope its not a rocker.

direct injection doesn’t sound like typical injector tick from a 5.3. Double check any exhaust problems, etc.

No. It’s been tuned for a few months now.

Aren't you supposed to upgrade to bigger injectors when you run E85? Did you do that? Who installed and tuned the E85 system you have? And do you have a video clip of this ticking sound so we can hear it?

I was under the impression that you didn’t need bigger injectors for the E85. Tom@Izzy Performance did the tune. I’ll try and upload a video now.

Not sure how much head room our injectors have with E85, but Dave Steck(the flex fuel guru) says you need a low side fuel system at a minimum as there isnt enough head room in that side of the fuel system.

Buddy of mine with a C7 can only run up to E47 before he runs out of fuel. He's running stock low side, but has a cam to add high side fueling.

No injectors required... plenty of head room there.

That doesnt sound like injector ticking, at least not any I have ever heard. Sounds valve train related to me.

Collapsed lifter perhaps. The slight squealing could be a lifter wheel.

have you tried unplugging another injector on the opposite side of the motor so you can try to replicate the sound?

I'm going to go with this. Plus misfiring or malfunctioning injectors will throw a check engine light.

That is NOT injector noise. Top end valvetrain.
