Looking for nice cruising roads in Michigan

Hi, Michigan, planning a trip from Niagara Falls to Michigan and was seeking out some nice scenic routes. I plan on hitting the thumb coastline and continuing up to Machinaw City on the coast then down to Grand Rapids along the coast. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hit M-25 in Port Huron around Thumb, Get on M-13 in Bay City head north, turns into US23, take it to Mackinaw City. Take US-31 south to turn on Levering road west to Cross Village and the Tunnel of Trees, take M-119 south to US-31 and continue to Traverse City. Take M-22 from Traverse City all the way down to US31 near Manistee.

Lots to see this route.....

The Upper Peninsula is where a lot of the real beauty is, Highway 2 is a great scenic drive. As far as Lower Michigan, you will want to stop in Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Ludington State Park, Gilmore Auto Museum in Hickory Corners, Mackinaw City, Frankenmuth has a nice covered wooden bridge for a car photo opportunity and is cool little German town. East side of the shore line is a little rocky and not as covered in sandy beach line like the west side of the state.

Thanks guys, looking forward to the trip, looks like my week just got full of nice places to see and great roads to enjoy the top down cruising. Might drive the girl past the Camaro plant as she's a year old now.

If you go by the Camaro plant, stop and get breakfast at Golden Harvest in Lansing. You just have to get there before 1pm, it is a breakfast only place that closes at 2pm. Very unique atmosphere and awesome food at a reasonable price.

In Mackinaw City I recommend Darrow's Family Restaurant, excellent food and service. In Traverse City I recommend Boone's Long Lake Inn. If you are up for the drive, take a trip up the Old Mission Penninsula in Traverse City, nice scenery and many winery's.

What a beautiful state Michigan is. Trip was great, some really nice cruising roads and scenery. Thanks again! Just missed getting on the Watkins Glen track for $25 by 20 mins. Ended the trip with 3 days at Mich speedway for NASCAR. Junior made a stop by the Chevy tent as well. 2400 miles on this trip. Camarofest is up next.
