Thanks for providing a little more insight to the “specific question” thought process. I understand there are politics at play and definitely think the monthly “deep dive” into interesting Camaro things outweighs the risk of pissing them off with constant complaint trouble shooting.

Looking forward to the answer either way, and secretly hoping it addresses the bog!

There's probably more involved than wheel spin. Like knock retard.

You get high IAT's, some wheel spin, and some spark knock, add it all up and a bunch of timing and power is pulled momentarily.

Just guessing.

The potential rewards to this section DEFINITELY outweigh the risks. And to be honest, it's not a matter of pissing them off. At no point have we ever seen any sort of anger or frustration. (Hand on my heart) There are simply just some things they won't or can't talk about. We've got to respect that, even if it sucks at times.

Beyond that - we want to keep the tone in here purposefully upbeat. Complaints/Troubleshooting doesn't piss them off, it just sort of undermines the attempt to get some cool info.

I'm sure there's more to it, but I don't recall knock retard specifically being a big problem in the logs that I gathered. IAT2s certainly have a big impact, but the corresponding spark timing reductions are explainable/expected.

The point is valid though. Each model/configuration likely has its own complexities that factor in to the launching approach. (e.g., auto, manual, cars with PTM and eLSD, cars without PTM and eLSD, etc., etc.) The software baselines manged by the engineers has to be mind boggling for all of the configurations.

The challenges must be abundant and complex. That's why I'm so excited about hearing what the folks in the know have to say.

The A10 should be getting a fair amount of help from its torque converter. As long as the TC isn't trying to lock up too soon, anyway.

I am also concerned that trying to use the clutch to prevent bogging will cause premature clutch ware if we don’t get assistance with this issue

How hard are you running it? Are you getting mid-low 11s in the 1/4 with no bog?

Verts don’t get the E-LSD, we get just a LSD. So no programmable wheel slip etc with launch control.

Interesting...

Bad blood between the ELSD logarithms and the ECM?

Haven’t taken her up to Bradenton motorsports yet, but she’s done a 3.7s 0-60 with a hard launch and no bog, but a bit of tire spin.

Has never bogged on the street. Not once.

Yep that’s the hypothesis... Travis’ data is pretty convincing.
