I just put the tape along the top between the mounting hooks.

I cant find the info ?

I know someone posted some pics of taking the radio off to put foam tape behind to quiet rattle, but for the life of me I cant find it now?

Anyone with better locating skills got the link?

Thanks

I didn't have to remove anything, just put foam behind the upper bezel, in the middle. It's been fine since then.

Behind ?

There is no place to put anything behind, unless your leaving it viseble to the eye?

I saw somewhere someone took a panel off the bottom, two screws and you can get behind the unit and hide some tape or whatever to stop the rattling.

But now cant find that post.

I thought I could put some felt behind it, but there really is no where to hide anything to quiet it down, plus I was worried about heat?

Thoughts , opinions?

Thanks, Chris
A lot of things in these cars seem to rattle for some reason or the other.

I have the 8" screen. There's the plastic bezel that arches over the screen; behind this there is a slit that you can put a little piece of foam or padding into (you don't need much). At first I would cut the foam a little big so you can try it first so see if it gets rid of your rattle, then you can trim later.

I have this same problem, but like someone else said, i cant fit anything on the top sides or bottom of the screen besides a business card. How do you get the screen off without making it worse? Pictures would be very very helpful.

This thread has a video that shows removing the radio piece and you can see the hooks.

I just told my dealer during an oil change visit and they took care of it. No more rattle.

This is a view from above the screen; I have a piece of velcro inserted (not trimmed yet)

My 16 SS with 14,000 miles has never had a single rattle anywhere. My 17 LT has rattled like a coffee can full of marbles since day one. The drivers door panel rattles with the slightest bass beat, and I have a rattle that seems like it’s coming from the grill area in the center top of the dash, even though I can’t seem to figure out where it’s actually coming from. So far I can’t push, pull, or find any way to make it stop. I’d hate to have the monkeys at the dealership dig into my dash! That would surely cause more issues than it would fix!
