It's probably more like $4k-ish no? I think the RS package is included in that upgrade price.

I am one of the people who bitched, pissed and moaned to Scott to build the Synergy Green on the 2011's in SS Trims and RS packages...and I made good on my promise to buy one if they did. Love the Dusk...just have not won the lottery yet...sorry Scott. Can only afford one of these beauties at a time.

Thank you everyone for the feedback on the new Dusk Special Edition. I have documented this into our database where many departments of GM can access the information and feedback!

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me at your convenience!

Mojave Interior Q.

Brandon,
I am assuming the rap around Mojave leather will only be available in the DUSK option.

Of note: the Mojave interior is more than just seat inserts in the Dusk Edition.

On Cars.com when you select the Mojave option it's a $500 increase. Thats a bunch for forward facing leather. No increase on any other color. ????

First - perhaps you might try being a bit more polite. No one likes to be called a Moron-- especially those of us who work 7 days a week on this car -- especially with the fact that we spend more time listening to our customers than any car that I know of. Yes - you love Lemans blue. So do I. A quick look at my many posts on the subject wiill find that I'm a fan as well. But you see - I found out years ago that what I like might have nothing to do with what the majority of others love...or even like.

I'm not sure what 'synergy green analogy' you refer to - we did a 'special edition' camaro in synergy green --people were asking for a bright color and something new - so we delivered. People then asked for the color on all camaros - so -- we listened and offered it for a period of time on the 2011 model. Ironically, those who asked us to offer it on all Camaro models were very happy - those who bought the limited edition car in 2010 were not - so - the perfect example of "damned if you do and damned if you don't"

We continue to put out special edition models. That's good business.

Now - I'm not saying we'll never offer bright blue - that would be foolhardy - but what I WILL say is that bright blue as a rule has not sold well. Jetstream Blue was not a roaring success on Corvette - AND - when we took out all of the Jetstream Blue cars that I ordered for Autoshows in North America -- and the various company vehicles - the # was even lower.

You may find it interesting to know that we have a Camaro enthusiast who ordered his Berger Camaro in Jetstream Blue -(the dealer painted it that color...) At the Fbody Gathering in Atlanta - we had him park it next to an ABM Camaro - there was a decided difference -- BUT -when we put another Camaro between them? You'd have thought they were the same color.............

ABM did not sell well. Go look at the numbers -- AND - when we announced that the color was going to go away because of the low volume (paint deteriorates as it sits in the vat unused...) thevolume dropped further

Yes - Jetstream blue was offered on Corvette. That does NOT mean that you can just dump the paint in a vat at Oshawa and 'off you go!" -- it doesn't work that way. Paint validation costs upwards of a million dollars for one color on one vehicle line - and in some cases -- multiple millions. So - there IS risk involved.

You missed my point about 50 colors - of course we aren't going to offer 50 colors - the point was that IF we were able to offer 50 colors on the Camaro there would still be people who were unhappy that we didn't offer - say - champagne gold - (1969) or Grecian Green (1968) or Emerald Turquoise (1967) or *insert your favorite color here*

Now - I'm sorry that you are "tired of the excuses" - and if you think that we're just not doing this because we like upsetting people (if that's your implication) you are severely misguided in that assessment.

I really don't like to take this tone with anyone - but if you are telling me that you have "..have stopped following the forums on the Camaro..." because of color -- then there may be other issues............

I'm grateful that you've owned 5 Camaros. That said - the team can't take that into consideration - because you see - we have a lot of people who have owned 5 -- or many more - Camaros. We have to look at the colors that customers will want to buy on the XTS - the Regal - the Equinox - and the Impala - and then offer those as a portion of the 10 colors available on Camaro. That's because we share a body shop at Oshawa with those vehicles - and, in fact, the Cadillac XTS, and the Buick Regal come down the very assembly line that produces the Camaro.....
......That also gives us three unique colors - Yellow - Red - Orange - and a special color for a few months each year.

Yes - we could build the Camaro in its own plant - but if you look back in history - we did exactly that - and it did not end well.

The bottom line? It's not easy making these decisions - because you see, no matter what we choose there will always be someone such as yourself that has their irate meter set a few notches too high.

My apologies if I've offended anyone else - but I take exception to my fellow team members being called "morons" - we do not deserve that moniker, sir!
I said I over-reacted when I stated GM is run by morons, and I am sorry I said it. Just frustrated I guess. I don't understand why it costs millions to validate a color. GM must have thought it was worth the money to validate Synergy Green. I thought that was great! (even if it cost more as an option). I am glad you said GM is not saying they will never offer the blue that many Camaro lovers seek. At least I can still hope that maybe someday, some way, GM will decide to offer a "special edition" or extra-cost optional medium or bright metallic blue. Again, I apologize for my comment. Sometimes I let my passion for things get ahead of my mouth, and it engages before my pea-brain stops the commentary from coming out.
