So do you have to seal the box back up so as not to allow the air to escape other than through the vents?

Most guys use silicone to seal the box back up.

from the snowflake the door is closed. That's where I put a new blue dot. and always run mine for A/C, Never had a problem in 14 yrs. There is also a TSB that reprograms the HVAC A/C that does not allow the evap and blend door to frost up creating a brittle condition. Check with your dealer.

Came across it on utube, same guy that did detailed door repair on page 5 of posts, anyway was at dealer yesterday getting transmission serviced and asked about reprograming adulator blend door as the video addressed. Both the service manager and tec looked thought TSB's and couldn't find nothing
