Even if the car hadn't been "heavily modified" they would have still tried to find a way to deny coverage. 90% of the time 3rd party warranties are worth less then the paper they are printed on, you'd do better to save the money they would charge and do any repair yourself.

Remember its a business model, what they charge you has to pay for customer service, the website, lawyers, kickback to the salesman and make a profit on top of that so if they have to pay for repairs to 50% of those who bought it they would go out of business, maybe 1-3% of those who pay for it actually use it to the extent they "save" money on repairs.

Called the warranty company and they said they reimburse the dealer for the cost of the service contract and I should contact the selling dealer to be reimbursed. So I'm waiting for the owner of the dealership to call to work out the details.

For those that were wondering, the warranty was not a prime consideration when buying the car, it was more of "bonus" if they were actually going to cover a modded car. So it doesn't bother me that they won't cover it, I expected that going in, it just caught me off guard they offered.

And I LOVE!!! the car, no way I'm giving it back, warranty or not.

When I canceled my third part warranty (after getting home and reading it and the actual price they charged (>$5000), they applied it to my note.

even worse if they added it to the loan then you'd be paying another $500-1000 over the life of the loan in interest.

I figure they might do something like that, though I hope they don't, that way I can use the money to pay for the thermostat & system flush (the dealer wanted $1,900, my shop is charging me $1,200).
