That said I love driving a manual, but for you to say an automatic SS is wrong no matter how fast is just stupid. .3 seconds is a pretty big deal that low, and once you factor in mods the gap only spreads |

I don't see real world numbers being the same. GM seems to be conservative with their numbers. Proof here below...
The 1LE for example: (Car and Driver Numbers) 1/4 Mile: 12.9 seconds at 111 mph Zero to 60 mph: 4.5 sec Braking 70-0 mph: 145 ft (because they want to be different? WTF!?!?) The 1LE for example: (Motor Trend Numbers) 1/4 Mile: 12.9 seconds at 110.5 mph Zero to 60 mph: 4.4 sec Braking 60-0 mph: 99 ft The 1LE for example: (Motor Week Numbers) 1/4 Mile: 12.9 seconds at 110 mph Zero to 60 mph: 4.5 sec Braking 60-0 mph: 109 ft The 1LE for example: (Edmunds Numbers) 1/4 Mile: 13 seconds at 108.7 mph Zero to 60 mph: 4.8 sec Braking 60-0 mph: 108 ft The 1LE GM Numbers) 1/4 Mile: 13 seconds Zero to 60 mph: 4.6 sec Braking 60-0 mph: 127 ft

inflation happens, wage increases are lagging, I agree, but the shocking prices of cars isn't unique to the Camaro - everything is getting more expensive.

Couldn't read beyond page 2; overall am happy to hear the numbers...
Interesting that the turbo 4 is faster with the manual...I believe the majority of folks buying them will be increasing the boost so I'm curious to see if that remains the case...

I knew it wasn't an SS, with no red bits on the shifter.

My 328i MSRP was $50k and it performs no better than the 2.0T Camaro with 18" tires. Interior and features are every bit as good if not much better too. Chevy has came a long way.

so realistically it's probably 0-60 in like 4.2 seconds with the auto... not bad.

Holy shit.
This car is just as fast, if not faster, than a full bolt ons 5th gen with good tires. I'm thrilled and horribly appalled at the same time. GG, General Motors. |
