For a straight race you always have an advantage with an automatic, whether you like it or not. Most of the high end supercars don't even offer manuals anymore because they rob the car of so much performance.

That said I love driving a manual, but for you to say an automatic SS is wrong no matter how fast is just stupid. .3 seconds is a pretty big deal that low, and once you factor in mods the gap only spreads

I don't see real world numbers being the same. GM seems to be conservative with their numbers. Proof here below...

The 1LE for example: (Car and Driver Numbers)
1/4 Mile: 12.9 seconds at 111 mph
Zero to 60 mph: 4.5 sec
Braking 70-0 mph: 145 ft (because they want to be different? WTF!?!?)

The 1LE for example: (Motor Trend Numbers)
1/4 Mile: 12.9 seconds at 110.5 mph
Zero to 60 mph: 4.4 sec
Braking 60-0 mph: 99 ft

The 1LE for example: (Motor Week Numbers)
1/4 Mile: 12.9 seconds at 110 mph
Zero to 60 mph: 4.5 sec
Braking 60-0 mph: 109 ft

The 1LE for example: (Edmunds Numbers)
1/4 Mile: 13 seconds at 108.7 mph
Zero to 60 mph: 4.8 sec
Braking 60-0 mph: 108 ft

The 1LE GM Numbers)
1/4 Mile: 13 seconds
Zero to 60 mph: 4.6 sec
Braking 60-0 mph: 127 ft

Yes, some of us make fair money but these cars aren't cheap by any stretch.
Chevy did a nice job on the power to weight for this car, now lower the side windows.
I just priced out a 2016 Honda Pilot for $48,000

inflation happens, wage increases are lagging, I agree, but the shocking prices of cars isn't unique to the Camaro - everything is getting more expensive.

The car is truly amazing to drive and I can hardly wait for you to drive one and see what we're talking about.

We're never 'finished' working on Camaro............
The man, myth, and legend speaks! Give a high five to the team for us. Can't wait to get my order completed! Maybe you can sneak it in another week earlier?

Couldn't read beyond page 2; overall am happy to hear the numbers...

Interesting that the turbo 4 is faster with the manual...I believe the majority of folks buying them will be increasing the boost so I'm curious to see if that remains the case...

Seriously though, man, the 6th gen is just stellar. Interior especially - blows the 5th gen away. I was going to buy a 5th gen when it first came out then I was honestly bummed at the interior, so I decided I'll just wait to see what you do for the 6th gen and I am glad I waited.

Have to watch the options though man. You don't pay attention and you'll be spending $40k on a V6 and $50k on a SS. Who do you think you are, BMW?
That 50k 2ss would be 80-90k in a BMW.

Nice spot, thanks!

I knew it wasn't an SS, with no red bits on the shifter.

My 328i MSRP was $50k and it performs no better than the 2.0T Camaro with 18" tires. Interior and features are every bit as good if not much better too. Chevy has came a long way.

so realistically it's probably 0-60 in like 4.2 seconds with the auto... not bad.

Holy shit.

This car is just as fast, if not faster, than a full bolt ons 5th gen with good tires. I'm thrilled and horribly appalled at the same time.

GG, General Motors.
