It should be interesting to see what Ford comes out with in 2018. It's pretty much confirmed the Coyote will be getting direct injection and the spray bore liner. It could end up being a 5.2 liter cross plane crank V8 making high 400s hp and low to mid 400s tq.

Exactly why we buy performance cars, for backseat passenger comfort and grocery trips. LMAO.

The previous ZL1 coupe had a base curb weight of 4,120 pounds and it was stated that the new car is 200 pounds lighter putting it at 3,920 pounds. That puts power to weight at 6 pounds per horsepower, the old ZL1 was at 7.1 pounds per horsepower so it is a pretty solid jump. I believe that the last GT500 had a base curb weight of 3,850 pounds however with things like their track pack could go up to 3,960 pounds though at 3,850 pounds it puts the car at 5.8 pounds per horsepower. According to the Dodge site the Hellcat is 4,469 pounds with 707BHP giving it a power to weight ratio of 6.3 pounds per horsepower (the worse of the 3).

Though Ford will likely have an answer to the ZL1 with a new GT500 I don't think Dodge has any plans in the near term.

I must say that the 2017 ZL1 in the quarter is a beast! I would tell you how fast it ran but I have been sworn to secrecy. This message was supposed to be encrypted but I didn't say anything confidential so I opted not to do that.

Carry on!

Wow! a 4200 lb car with usually a little under 500 hp to the wheels with a good driver and DA capable of going mid 11's is a turd?

The hellcat is the only car that's not a turd to him. He doesn't need a steering wheel.

I dunno, the ZL1s that have shown up to our local drag strip have been pretty underwhelming. The owners were even pissed LOL

Maybe no one but a pro can drive them?

Driver skill is variable that is not a fault of the car.
