Mobil 1 EXP. Dexos approved for your warranty.
I use Royal Purple too in other cars....Just as good but more $$$. Not Dexos approved cause they don't want to pay GM for the rights.

I use Pennzoil Ultra in my stuff. From what I've read it's the highest ration of synthetic on base motor oil and is backed by Pennzoil warranty. Pennzoil is also Dexos approved. Filters are another whole thing because there is a lot of smoke and mirrors when it comes to them.

For the V8 its 8 or 8.5 qts?
Also, nearing 1500 miles, this good time for first oil change and differential fluid change?

Valvoline is NOT GM dexos approved, so if you ever have an engine issue they "could" deny your claim. I'm not saying they would but by not using an approved oil you are giving them an easy out.

Here is the complete list:

8qts. I run with 7.5 as I feel it keeps the lifters a bit quieter.

Lots of tier 2 and 3 brands on this list. What does Dexos require that SN doesn't? I generally use M1 or PP in my cars or Chevron Supreme if I want conventional. CS isn't on the list but all of Chevron's Havoline oils are. That's got to be a choice by Chevron to market a certain brand to GM owners, not anything lacking in CS. I'd be more interested to know what oils fail a Dexos test. LS3s have survived just fine for decades on a wide variety of oils.

My 2010 says Mobil 1 right on the oil cap, so that's what I use.

its a corvette engine use the m1; also because of the much greater frictional surface area it makes economic sense to do so.

if its a v6 the dexos is better as its not a large displacement high performace engine and isnt likely to be driven as hard.

Sometimes Costco will have a 6-quart box of Mobil 1 in 5W30 on sale...
