Called my dealer, they pulled up VINView and looks like I'm good. My truck is in Jacksonville right now, should arrive next week.

5,500 trucks release for "premium" shipping?

I'm guessing GM paid any hauling service that was available and willing to ship trucks.

I'd love to be excited but with keeping the 8 speed (even if it's "updated") I cannot see this being a great driving vehicle. The 8 speed in the 2023 Sierra 1500 with the 2.7 that I have spent some time in leaves a lot to be desired. It has more mishaps than my 280k mile 6L80.

So the Ford F150 and Ranger Raptors, Ram TRX and now Toyota TRD Pro all have multi link and coil spring rear suspensions. Only GM trucks are left with leaf springs for their top models.

Give it a chance. There have been pretty much zero complaints about the new 8 speed in the mid-size twins thus far.

Honestly if it fixes the low speed lurching and the torque converter issues from the prior gen, that alone should result in a pretty good transmission, but so far the new owners say it's pretty smooth.

They said they used the revised 8spd because it matched the 2.7 better but I suspect it was a cost cutting measure. I've heard it's superior though as far as driving dynamics are concerned, let's hope for longevity. If you look hard enough, you'll see a few of those cost cutting measures on the 3rd gen midsizers GM is offering. There is less room for profit on these. Ford went with the 10spd and a V6 option. Toyota went with an optional hybrid that'll best GM's 2.7 in HP/TQ and surely MPG. That being said, competition is great. The Toyota fanbois should thank GM. I still think GM has a competitive pair of trucks here.

No delivery yet as far as I am aware, but I noticed 2 interesting things. First, my truck no longer appears on my dealer’s site or the Chevrolet inventory search results at all. I did have the link saved to the Chevrolet inventory tracker though, and the link still works, it just doesnt appear in the search results any more. (link)

Secondly, it looks like the rubber mud flaps i have had on my order since November 4th have been completely removed from my window sticker, without any input from me, which i didnt know was possible.

That thing has got to be coming soon lol. Man, never would have thought that shipments would get this bad. A combination of timing issues, logistics issues, and bad luck really put the brakes on this pretty hard. I've been waiting for a white Canyon AT4 to come into my local dealer for months so I can go check it out and maybe test drive. Not interested to buy it though...it's not a color I want. My luck is that it's probably a sold order and I'll never see it. There is another GM dealership about 40 miles or so away from me that did get one Canyon in, but it's gone now.

It is crazy how long it is taking! I asked the dealer for an update since it isnt on their site any more. My thought is it was pulled for hail damage so just like the system automatically puts it on the sites when it is ready for shipment, maybe it removes it when it is not.

Have you seen any in person yet? I forget. A local dealer has an LT on the lot i saw when dropping off an Enterprise rental on sunday, and what was the first 2023 I have seen here in Connecticut. I was in Michigan all of last week and saw a black Canyon in the MIS parking lot, but didnt get to get close as the owner was leaving.

Ouch. 16/16/16.

https://gmauthority.com/blog/2023/05...ings-revealed/

How did they manage to do worse than 2022 ZR2 3.6? just the added weight? Bigger tires? Aero? I mean if i'm buying a ZR2, I don't care necessarily, but it's just surprising.

I have seen a single blue Colorado Z71 sitting out front at a near-ish dealership and it looked good. I didn't get to see it up close. That's it.

Yes...weight, height, tires...all of that hit it hard despite the use of the 2.7...which itself doesn't seem very efficient at all. Still not good though.

I posted this on the other forum, but yeah the EPA ratings on these is disappointing. I'm expecting better than EPA numbers on the LT and Z71 models....maybe not so much the lifted/widened/bigger tire Trail Boss and Canyon AT4 / Denali models though...although I'm still optimistic about them also.
