Note to all makers of all the hideously awful retro kits for the 5th gen Camaro.

This is how you're supposed to do it….

I wouldn't want one but I can comfortably say I would have more self respect being seen in this than the crappy Lingenfelter chop job. Of course this is a lot more than that one but it shows. I believe that most of the cost in the Lingenfelter kit is the power mods they add.

Infinitely better than the Lingenfelter nose kit, that's for sure. Still, I would rather buy a Dynacorn Repro and build a supermuscle car that way.

We got to look that car over at SEMA a few weeks ago and the proportions don't work on the back half of the car. It is kind of awkward in the rear quarters.

I agree they dropped the ball on the rear end. The bumper and taillights look like an afterthought. Not a good integration of the old on the new. But the rest of the car is spot on.

I think the roof looks more out of place than anything. It's too bubbly to go with the angular aesthetics of the rest of the car.

If you think this is a better job than that Mustang?

With due RESPECT learn to read, I'm talking about the conversion kit not the original Mustang or Camaro. The above photos are what I'm talking about. That Mustang certainly looks better than this lame attempt Lingenfelter made at making the 5th Gen look exactly like the 1st. It could have been thought out better but the people who did it decided to half ass it. The price difference between the Mustang Kit and Camaro Fascia and Chrome Sticker Set shows.

Approx $30,000 for the conversion cost. At first examination, it does look attractive considering the larger proportions when compared to the original models. But hell no, I wouldn't have them chop up my mint '12 BOSS 302 just to convert it... I'd just pony up the dough buy an original one. Although a base pre-owned 2011 5.0 GT is a great donor to start with... I'd go for the Terlingua Retrobuilt version!

For $30K you could buy a semi restored 69 Mustang, although not a Boss, it would still go up in value, unlike this one that has very limited appeal and its value will drop like a rock for being a fake 69. I would rather buy a real 69 for $30K and spend $30k on restoration.

You are kidding, right? I have seen one in person. That thing is an abomination and an insult to every 69 Camaro ever built... The porportions are not right and the parts just don't look good close up.
