This is what I have. Good quality and settings. I hard wired mine behind my rearview mirror so it's out of sight and out of mind.

Has anyone thought of installing a "dash cam" outside of the interior? I was thinking about putting one behind the grill so nobody could even tell there was a camera. Guess it wouldn't really be a dash cam anymore lol..

I know of people who have mounted cameras in the front 'grills' of their Corvettes primarily to assist with avoiding hitting/scrapping front splitters when parking, but they also produce some awesome videos.

Here is some video from my dashcam after getting it installed. i am video ignorant as far as editing and uploading to youtube, so it doesnt appear to be original quality and the sound is muted for copyright reasons (the radio was on while driving)

Just my 2¢... I had one made by BlackBox. It was great, but quit working after about 6 months. Maybe mine was a dud, maybe they all are, I don't know, but I'll likely go with a different brand next time, possibly one from this thread!

Costco has a nice Cobra dash cam for $98. I have been tempted many times....

Never mind this post. I just read the reviews on the unit they sell and they absolutely suck.

I've been thinking about this also. Would love to see some pics of the wire routing for those that have them hardwired. From the mirror where do they go? Across the windshield and down the a-pillar? Are you removing plastic trim and putting it behind the trim? Where do you route from pillar to fuse box?

My wiring goes up into the headliner, across the drivers side to the pillar, down the pillar to my fused terminal block. I have only two fuse taps in the fuse box, one is switched 12v (red) and the other is constant 12v (yellow). these are split at the terminal block into however many outputs of each I need. The dashcam uses the opposite color scheme as me, thats why I have yellow to red and red to yellow.

I have a hardwired:
phone charger (to an old android phone used for running the YaV1 software for my valentine1 radar detector)
Valentine1 Radar Detector
Blacksys CH-100B Dash Cam
