I guess I just have to justify the extra cash that would be spent on the CAI Inc cai.
Pull the trigger and get the CAI. Your first dig after installation will be all the justification you'll need!!

I had the R2C, I had to take it off for a magazine article.

It was a nice product, got more engine roar and the buttometer says I picked up some power and was for sure a tenth or more quicker for the track.

NO Tuning was done with any of the CAI Testing.

I have the R2C on my Car.... This is by far the best Intake out there. I have used other brands on other cars. However I must say engine sound, throttle response, and gains were all there. I also did it with LT, and full exaust, and got it tuned. My numbers were very impressive. My friend here in town is running one on his SS as well. He got the CAI and decided to stay with the R2C. The only think he did was add the air scoop. If you go this route you will not be dissapointed.

I see intakes a lot like shoes. They all do about the same. Pick the price you want to pay, and the style you like. Most end up being seperated by 5 HP or so...and that difference is not enough to quantify one being signifigantly better than the other as every car reacts and performs a little different.

This is a very good point.... they all do what they are suppose to do. Make the car breath and preform better. The real potential for these don't really come into play until headers and tunes are done.

Thank you Ted. How did you come to the tuning recommended conclusion on R2C? Because it ran lean (trim column)?

I resurect things LOL

The following is straight from the R2C website:

"Try Before You Buy at the Camaro Event
During the Camaro event in Atlanta, R2C engineers provided Camaro SS owners with an opportunity to track test our systems against the factory intake as well as any aftermarket intake of their choice.

In back to back testing, R2C intakes consistently reduced elapsed times by an average of 3 tenths and gained 2-3 MPH. Other intake manufacturers were in attendance but declined to participate in the test sessions after witnessing the back to back performance comparisons. This includes those involved in the initial Camaro intake system manufacturers dyno testing. We thought it would be fun and informative for owners. You have to ask: why choose not to participate?

No competing Camaro SS cold air intake offers across the board benefits that approach R2C."

They Declined to participate.

We asked them twice at the beginning of both Tests.

We invited everyone that makes kits, if they decline we Honor they're decision.

Ted.

Impressive intake!

Where do you find one for $285? (Earlier post)

Their site takes cards, but I don't see a checkout?
