It's not the first. There was a matte black in Dubai a couple of months before anybody else had a ZL1. But it does look pretty badass. XD

I appreciate all the compliments gents. I'm really happy with new look. Satin really accentuates the chiseled features of the gen6's.

May I ask...about how much did that run you?

And what's the consensus on wraps...are they good for DD cars in terms of durability to weather, debris, etc...or are they more for show-cars?

If you go with a quality wrap, most reputable installers will charge between $1,800 and $2,500 for a car this size. I paid $2,200.

As long as you stay away from the chrome color wraps, these are every bit as durable as paint jobs. I originally wanted the black chrome wrap, but my installer told me it would be a maintenance nightmare because it would scratch easily. Plus he said he's had a number of clients who had to get the hood panel rewrapped because admirers would take selfies of themselves on top of the car while it was parked...leaving scratches and swirly marks everywhere.

I don't daily this car, so it should last me anywhere from 5-7 years, which at that point I may be looking for a change anyway. If I plan to sell the car, which I don't, the black paint will still be in perfect condition.

That does look good. It shows off all the angles of the car. I know someone that did their 5G Z/28 and it cost them about 3k. I personally could find better things to spend 3k on. But I guess if you got it to spend on that then more power to you.

Ditto on that and I am old. I think the look started with the Robocop movies and blacked out Ford cop cars. I'm sure not everyone likes the color of my car and that's ok. I'm sure the OP couldn't care less if I like it or not, but he does and that's what's important.

Thx man but it's actually not silly . And it's not blacked out. It's 35%, and when I drove home last night, my visibility wasn't hindered even in the slightest. That's kinda like saying those who go 35% all the way around are gonna have issues seeing in the evening; if that's the case, they presumably shouldn't be driving at all.

I see you're in CA. If you had to deal with how hot it can get down here, you'd understand why I did it.

Very cool! I really dig the contrast with black ground effects on the stick car, but if I was going to do a wrap, I'd have a hard time deciding between contrast or color match now.
