2016 Camaro ordering banks open up on August 18th

A local dealer just told me a few hours ago that the ordering banks (I think he called it "1st consensus cycle") for the 2016 Camaro will open up on August 18th.

That would make sense, seeing as it is the Monday after the unveiling of the car.

The car is being shown off in May, not in August.

your dealer is full of it... there is absolutely no way to tell what order guides will be available during that consensus... and no release from GM has come out at all

i think dealers somehow manage to know less than the general public about things dealing with their cars...

Well unfortunately...no matter what I think we are looking at mid - late fall or Winter before we will be getting our hands on these bad boys.

Since production is switching from Ontario to Michigan they may be close to being ready to go the day the car is unveiled. I don't see them waiting too long to begin production after the unveil. GM should not want a gap of no Camaros on their lots. When all the '15s are sold you need to start getting a few '16s.

AutoTrader has 21,877 new Camaros (all trims), within any distance of my Zip Code - I have no idea if that is a lot, or not.

At current sales rate, that's about a 4 month supply.

So...maybe they would like to have 16's on the lot by September if this is accurate?

Do we know if they are still rolling out 15's?

Seems like that would be difficult for them to do, unless as suggested, they are pretty close to having production facilities ready to go shortly, and I have no clue if this is at all likely.
Number3, who I must trust with his background, has been predicting late fall from early on first spy shots (if I recall correctly - if not...sorry).

it will be great if they can get them to consumers by September.
