Question Best snow tire for Camaro SS

Hi Guys,

I did some research and by just replacing tires on stock size to snow ones is about $1000 the cost and if I downsize to 18" wheels and tires it would cost me the double.
I included only the tires recommended by tire rack and discount tires on stock size, to see which ones do you recommend. I didn't see the Blizzak or Michelin snow tires available in our stock size

This may seem dumb but how much snow do you get in Texas? I know up in the pan handle you see storms pass through. but when I pass through, I never have any problems. Now Fog is a pain down there.

I like Blizzak. There hasn't been much snow and ice this year, but I've used them in the past on various Mustangs and had no problems through the winter.

I have a set on my LT1 - on some cheap 18 inch rims. They are expensive in a size that fits the stock 20s. Plus I think snow tires work best when they have some sidewall.

My advice is buy a second set of rims in a smaller diameter and a relatively narrow size based on a combination of wheel size that fits and tire price. Don't pay for tires to match the factory rims. You'll need another set of TPMS sensors, but then it will be easy to switch back and forth in the future.

Which sizes are your tires and wheels? Which brand of wheels and how much did they cost you? Did the change of sizes changed the accuracy of your speedometer?
