I killed a good size wolfe spider in my house yesterday. The body was probably the size of a quarter...I cant imagine seeing a spider that big. I dont have the balls to get close to that thing!

I've raised Goliath spiders when I was younger. I've only been able to get one the size of a dinner plate. They eat mice and if you get a how to raise spider book all the righting is in red when talking about these. They are very aggressive and can jump very well. They call them bird eaters. They wait in bushes for birds to land in and jump and rap there legs around them. This is way bigger then I've seen ever.

If I remember right. The dady long leg has the strongest venom. Just to small to do anything with it.

We went to Riffe lake this Summer. I left the canopy for my boat sitting up against the back of my motorhome overnight. The next day I set up the canopy on the boat and we went cruising. ALL DAY. When returning to our dock. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed a 2" diameter (maybe bigger he was huge) brown recluse was "rappelling" down from the back part of the canopy into the boat. We FREAKED. Somehow I knocked him down onto the deck of the boat. I then smashed his ass with my sandal. Can't stand creepy crawly anything. Kill it, Stomp it, Squish it. I think in the case of the South American Goliath Bird Eating Spider I would need a .44 magnum though.

The worst animal I ever saw was a Bear in the wild. They terrify me. The fear is terrifying.

mythbusters busted that myth. they had a daddy longleg bite adam savage and he said the spider was able to penetrate his skin, and he reported nothing more than a very mild burning sensation from the venom that lasted just a few seconds
