have a question about factory amp replacement

do I have to get an amp install kit when I buy the aftermarket amp? I am guessing that the OEM amp has a power line, fuse etc already running to the battery. am I correct? I have the car tucked away and haven't had a chance to look under the carpet in the trunk yet, just bought her in nov and put her in storage shortly afterwards. wasn't sure if I needed to buy a kit along with the fark, rca's, etc

You'll need the cables for power and ground and a fuse. Nothing from the stock amp to power your aftermarket amp.

Yes, you need an install kit for power and ground to battery. FARK does not run power to aftermarket amps.

Fark kit makes Install easy, no wires to splice.

appreciate the effort, is there a kit on that first site that would do the trick? I see several in the 20-35 dollar range that sounds a whole lot better than the 80 or 100 dollar ones Best Buy sells. one they have there is an 8AWG which is what the installer used in my last camaro but don't remember much else. also the amp I plan on running is the Alpine MRX V70, 4X60 at 4 Ohms

I would use at least 4 gauge wire.

Take a look online. There's a lot of less expensive kits online like at sonic electronix or amazon.

Kits are much cheaper there

I would let the installer cut your wires and put you kit together during installation. If you buy a kit your going to pay for stuff that wont be used. They only need a couple of feet of power and ground cable, they dont need speaker wire and because the amp in in the trunk with the fark you only need 3 ft RCA cables. The kits dont come with cables that short. Save some money and let the installer peice it together based on what you really need
