Has GM dropped the ball with the 6th gen?
Seeing other car shows, I have noticed other manufacture's have already come out with their 2016 and are showcasing the 2017's The cars are in the show already ,car and specs out for the viewing . Yet the Camaro is still being hidden , No updates , car show after car show passes , Seems to me they rushed this generation too fast. Why wouldn't they have one built and out in the public and promote this car like the rest of these manufacturers ? They are missing out on all the hype and viewing of thousands of car buyers . I think they should of waited till 2017 to sell , Seems to me as a fan of the Camaro that they are not properly showcasing the car, Should they just back it off a year and give it the proper introduction it deserves?

I agree with you that GM's strategy will wind up hurting them in the end. Whatever the reason, I'm just about ready to forego considering this car in my search completely.

This car could end up being a 2017. They said 2015 was the last of the 5th gen but that doesn't mean the 6th gen has to be a 2016.
Do I think they dropped the ball? No. Am I confused? A little.

6Gen Camaro, will be 2016 model year. Just like Challenger, and the Mustang. Camaro will have its own show.

As long as you can still buy a new '15 Camaro, I don't think they've dropped anything yet...If '15s were in short supply and no '16s on the horizon, then, yeah, they dropped the ball...

Could have a short model year run for 2016? Think that is a definite possibility.

there must be a reason they've held it back. if it does debut at a later show in the spring it will probably have more attention to itself.

There were rumors that there was a lot of time and work lost when the Tech Center flooded this past summer. A lot of that loss was the Camaro. Work basically stopped while emergency construction was done. It may have had a bearing on the release date.
As a current owner, I haven't gotten all that excited for the new one. As this is a fun street car, no track use, I can't see how a couple hundred pounds lighter could get me excited to lose a ton of money to trade up. Besides, I like my car and I find it hard to believe that the next car can be so much better that I'll start to hate my 5th gen. A couple seconds on a road coarse or a few tenths at the strip ... don't care. A hundred hp is just a couple grand away, no need to upgrade. Just my useless ramble.

Very few real 2016 or 2017s have been shown.

It's amazing how people say they dropped the ball because they haven't released any photos for your viewing pleasure!.. Lol.. They can still release at the end of this year and it be a 2016. New York is the release. Just like they did the refresh and Z28

1969 all over again 19701/2 camaro any one. . .you think they would have learned ... just hope they learned from the corvette group ... I think the writing is on the wall there about to drop the front engine corvette they need a new design to expand on ...Camaro Chevelle Regal Eldorado somthing that will turn heads again not all the giant supositorys that we all drive now.IMO when they built the 5 gen camaro... thought they were going in the right direction...now I looks that there smoothing things over again leave the sharp lines, square headlights and openings bring back some of the style from there best looking years imo. Iroc years all the z28 years just pick from what you have don't copy chrysler concordes and ford Taurus' ... Come on GM wake the hell up or promote some of the guys from your GMPP... not all of your design elements should come from how many kid can we fit in it...I'm thinkin more lIke how hard does it push me in the seat, how crazy is the exhaust note .can we put more horsepower in it and it doesn't weight as much as the(the great white Moby ) challenger ...sorry for the rant...
