Z284ever had the following to say over at GM Inside News:
(keep in mind that he is at the show today)

Quote:
Okay, couple of things.

No Camaro. No Camaro tomorrow either.

I did have a vey interesting 20 minutes conversation or so with Dave Leone, Executive Chief Engineer for Cadillac. Nice guy and car guy too. We talked CTS-V, ATS-V.........and Camaro.

I'll do a full report later.

Is it me or is Chevy just not showing up to these shows like they should? Everything seems so meh and cheesy.

I feel the same way. Their presentations, especially this morning's, were very underwhelming.

I don't want to throw a wrench into things, but if I were GM, frustrating as this is to admit, I'd continue to keep this car under wraps Apple-style. The big reveal should be as close to release as possible. That would suggest that the auto show reveal will be the closest one to production. Which one is that? I have no idea, but I'm guessing it isn't happening soon.

I've wrestled with this for some time. My conclusion is that customer feedback doesn't impact design all that well, and even if it did, the results wouldn't be as awesome as the coherent product a professional designer would put together.

As far as engineering, I think we can all offer a lot of interesting insights, and we have on Camaro5 and here on Camaro6. Many of us require a V8, and we can expect the LT1 to fill that spot. We also expect a traditional entry level V6. There's also good reason to introduce a turbo-4 to compete directly with the Mustang EcoBoost setup. Otherwise, we can expect GM to take the performance lessons learned from the SS, 1LE, ZL1, and Z/28 packages to produce possible the most capable performance car ever built in its price range.

In any case, those of you still on the fence about a 6thgen or 5thgen should hang tight. All brands offer new cars over the next several months, so the Camaro is bound to be just over the horizon.

Geneva is the biggest. Paris and Frankfurt alternate. Paris takes place in even years and Frankfurt in odd years. I'd say Geneva then Paris/Frankfurt then Detroit. While Detroit is big for American cars I feel like we don't see many foreign manufacturers reveal something big there.

Just like in 09 when the SS came out... Hell the v6 Camaro was more capable than the mustang v8 for that first while. The performance to dollar ratio was unreal in 09. Not sure that big of gap from competition is even possible anymore but none the less I think GM has established the performance to dollar ratio being a legit reason to buy with the gen 5 Camaro and the c7. Good times for a american car guy and hope it continues with the gen 6 camaro
