Plus it would narrow the rear window opening more, increasing the blind spots, plus the added weight needed to strengthen the body due to the big open hole would probably make the car weigh more instead of less than the current car.

I'm just saying its possible, not that its a good idea. I think at this point the hatch is out.

Yes, noticed. It's a trunk.

Look at the rear views of the car. The rear glass is wayyyyuu too wide to be a hatch.

Also a hatch will degrade structural performance and require more mass to get it back.

Also it's Alpha and the architecture this far has not shown a hatch.

It's a trunk so don't get your hopes up.

And no prototype has shown us a targa.

Its sad that they won't offer a targa top since the ttop was such a hit for so many years. Plus it'd be an option that only a camaro offers in its category. Oh well I guess I'll continue to enjoy my 4th gen.

I doubt they add a targa, but it would be awesome if they did. What's the option cost on the c7?

I hope the Camaro will NOT have a hatchback as my 1998 Camaro did have a hatchback and it was HORRIBLE. Every time it rained, water would leak in and set off my factory alarm

The Targa in the C7 makes sense as it's full frame unlike the Camaro's unibody.

Mine never leaked, but did squeak on a 2001. Though they were amazing with how easily you could pile stuff in the car when traveling.
