Rail company has no explanation after 47-car train goes missing
"
According to spokesperson for the rail company Burton Lansdown, the company has "looked everywhere" and they "just can't find it."

Last night I got another ping, this time they picked up the train and moved it to someone's driveway in Coal City, Illinois.

I think OnStar has a bug or ten in their code. Not sure I'd trust them with my privacy.

LMAO! That's awesome. I sort of understand that there is quite a lot of rail out there, and a lot of random train cars, but losing an entire train is hilarious. You'd think that at least the locomotive has better tracking and the rest of the train didn't move itself...

So they did or didn't lose your rail car?

By the way this car is beyond amazing. Handling is better than most porsches I've driven. Which include 911 turbo s 2017, Cayman gt4s, careers 4gts, 911, voter, Targa, etc
...

I've got no reason to believe they've lost anything, but OnStar has twice sent me location notifications for someone else's car.

I'm hoping it's in Portland now and will be offloaded soon. I sold the STI today and mailed a check to Becky so I'm ready!

It kinda gets worse and worse for my sanity, though. Now it's close enough that I could drive up to the port and break in and see it...

So ship it already, dammit!

I suppose the dealer will want a day to prep it, so if it doesn't ship tomorrow then Friday is out, or I will tell them not to prep it beyond ripping off the plastic and taking out the shipping blocks...

That sounds like a plan! I have 663 miles on mine and trust me keeping my foot light is hard.

Still sitting in the lot next to the train. So much for getting it before the sun goes dark.

Probably the worst labor/delivery pain and agony I've ever seen.

I activated my OnStar but refuse to pay for the upgraded subscription due to the lack of a Smartless Phone

Yeah, maybe it would be better not knowing exactly where it is. I get a notification once an hour to remind me that it has not moved an inch . I've sold my daily driver and paid Becky for the 1LE, so I kinda want my car already . I've been stealing my wife's pickup for the last few days but that's not terribly convenient, especially during a busy work week.

Oh well. I suppose it gets here when it gets here, but if it doesn't start moving by Monday afternoon I'm going to ask Becky if she can light a fire under them.

It's unfortunate they have it set up this way. For free you can track it with a smartphone, but if you want to use your computer you have to pay $3.99/month.

Still no car for me. At this rate the car might take longer to get across Portland than it took to get across the country. The next time I think about ordering a car from GM, I hope someone slaps me upside the head.
