Sounds about average to me for the size of the motor. It isn't a 4 cylinder Honda. All the V8s I have owned usually needed fill ups about ever 300 or so miles. you are getting about 21mi/gallon

The oil would have to be really cruddy to affect mileage. And I would think you would also be hearing a knock knock if oil were truly the problem.

Couple of thoughts. Did gas in the area recently switch to a winter blend? Is it a percent alcohol? Both reduce mileage a bit.

Warming it up more on cold starts? New cars go really rich on a cold start to get the cats to light off quick. Winter mileage will be worse than summer.

Another possibility - put any gas in lately lower than 93 octane? The ecm could have sensed some low octance gas and switched to the low octane table. Some saying these cars aren't switching back on their own. Maybe try the fuse pull/battery disconnect thing.

Just about anything else really wrong would probably cause a check engine light, so if there is no light, I wouldn't sweat it.

I've said "I have my jeep for that" about lot of things on this site but gas mileage is most certainly not one of them. It's worse then my camaro.

I'm averaging about 17 mpg with 20% city and 80 % highway trolling at low rpms.

I've got headers/exhaust/cai and tune though and am not getting the 19 mpg avg from the stock setup.

Its still better than the 32 valve V8 blackwood that I sold to purchase the heavy chevy... 13 MPG is sick compared to the 17 MPG in the Camaro.

Get a BMW M5 for about a week...you would LOVE to see 300 miles on a tank! 13 is the highest I can get. I may play with this car for a bit this summer then pull the trigger on an SS. Enjoy your beast...and the really great mpg it can give you for the performance it delivers.

I am averaging the same, all I have done is a CAI and muffler delete. 300 miles on one tank is good
