My first Camaro detail should I get the ceramic coating next

If you live in Jacksonville Duval Detailing does a great job for an affordable price.

Ceramic coating is the best as long as you have a full paint correction done prior to application. Had mine done 11 months ago and looks as great as day one!

Once you have it done, wheels as well, the brake dust will be minimal and the weather elements will roll off. Cleaning is so much easier.....

Does improper drying ruin or effect the coating? Do u guys leaf blower ur cars or use a microfiber drying towel and pat dry to prevent swirls. Or just run a drying towel over the paint like normal since its coated?

I’ll be honest and say I haven’t washed my car in 11 months. I’ve rinsed it off and hit it with a blower, then booster spray and a microfiber but that’s been it. I have a ton of Adams stuff that now I can’t use on the car. That’s my downside on ceramic coating as I enjoy waxing my car and now I can’t.

I heard the scratches that happen with ceramicoat are more permanent, and the only way to take the coating off is to sand it off. Does anyone have any insight in this?

Ceramic helps deter scratches but won’t prevent them if done intentionally or deeply. I love it!

Optimum Opti Pro+ has a 7 year warranty. I had it done in Aug 2016. Still looks great.

Read the fine print on the Opti Pro. You have to abide by there specs and guidelines and just sounds like they can call foul at anytime for anything. For this cost, I love the Adams, but to each his own.

Yes.....Clay is a mechanical action, not a chemical action, therefore it will scratch and abraid the ceramic coat. Coatings are microscopic this , they are not like putting iron plate on a surface and everything becomes invulnerable. Actually they are quite delicate in some situations.

Do some readings about coatings at a true detailing site like Autogeek. The car forums are filled with bad info and urban myth, Some of it given out by detailers. Cory at the CARPRO.COM site has a lot of good information about their coatings.
