GM Performance Aluminum Emblem? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Guys the point of this thread is to answer a question about the performance emblem that comes with some GM Performance parts. Do all of the Camaros have one of these? I purchased my 2014 L99 used with 14k miles on it.

What was done in the first 14k is a mystery. I don’t think anything was done other than some “Bedazzling” on the front dash.

I noticed when I ordered the Z28 Cold air intake that it came with an emblem / aluminum sticker. I then noticed my 2014 2SS already had one of these affixed on top of the core support area. My question is do all of the Camaros already have one of these?

Now the point of the thread: If not all cars have this, does that mean that “Something” was added? If “Something” was added, what types of GM Performance items come with this emblem?

not sure if they all come with it but mine has it from factory

That was my best guess... That they all had it.. But getting one with a part made me wonder.

Most 2010s had them, 11's (and I think some 12s?) did not due to the division being mothballed during the restructuring, then they started using them again, there's been a few different variations of it too.

My 2SS/RS also has this emblem. I think GM added them to SS models.i don't think it is because the car has anything additional going for it other that it's a blast to drive! As for the extra one I got with the new CAI... I installed it right above the one the car came with.

I did not have them on my 2011 SS. I bought them and added. in talking with people at meet ups they did it on the 2010 then stopped. I was not aware they started again.

I had a 2010 SS, it had the GM Performance Division plate. The 2015 SS has it as well.

I have two of these emblems. One came with the car, attached near the hood latch point, and as it was explained to me, it came with the strut tower brace, which was installed at the dealership, months before I so much as looked at the car.

The second came with the 1LE suspension package I had installed last week. If you go look at the parts list for the 1LE Track Pack, it is listed, has its own part number, etc. I've got it in the plastic wrap it came in in my glove box right now.

So, my assumption is, these days, if you order any of the Chevy Performance parts, you'll get one as an indicator, you can choose to attach, that you've added Chevy Performance parts to the vehicle. That's just me guessing though.

Just checked pics of my 2011 SS vert. It did not have that emblem....but the 2014 does.

After stopping, they were used again with the release of the 2012 ZL1.
